Disney’s own Tinker Bell made a rare in person appearance at the Disneyland Resort on Tuesday, October 23. She was joined by her recently discovered sister, Periwinkle, to open the Secret of the Wings Skating Rink in Downtown Disney. Hosting the ceremony was Disneyland Resort Ambassador Rene Torrico, who also welcomed Vice President of Resorts and Downtown Disney Daniel Delcourt and Downtown Disney’s General Manager Janet Knox, as well as Secret of the Wings director Peggy Holmes and producer Michael Wigert.

October 23rd also marked the official release of Secret of the Wings on Disney Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD for home video. In this new adventure, Tinker Bell ventures into the Winter Woods, and discovers a secret that will change her world forever. The Secret of the Wings is the first Disney Fairies movie in over two years.

The Secret of the Wings Skating Rink is now open in Downtown Disney Anaheim. It can be found between the ESPN Zone and the Earl of Sandwich. Sessions, lasting one hour, are $15, $12 for toddlers. Skate rental is $3.00. It is open to the public Sunday-Thursday from 11am to 9:30pm (last session), and Friday and Saturday 11am to 11pm. Special hours have been posted for the following days:

  • Thanksgiving Day (November 25): 11am-9:30pm
  • Christmas Eve: 11am-9pm
  • Christmas Day: 11am-Midnight
  • New Year’s Eve: 11am-Midnight
