For many regular guests to Tokyo Disneyland the first phase of the 25th anniversary year was a disappointment. The debut of Jubilation! (a brand new daytime parade) at the park did not compensate for the lack of a TDL staple the castle forecourt stage show. This has been rectified for the second season that commenced on July 8. During the day Tokyo Disneyland presents four different versions of the popular Cool The Heat shows (this years shows feature a rotating Act II with either Stitch, Donald, Mickey or Minnie) where forecourt viewers are drenched to the bone by a series of fountains, industrial-strength misters and water-jets mounted on the castle, stage and Central Plaza turrets. Every single guest is guaranteed a soaking.

The park also introduced a new nighttime stage show called Starlight Dreams for the summer season. Back in 2000 Tokyo Disneyland presented Starlight Magic which was a popular show involving classical music and fireworks. Starlight Dreams utilizes castle projections, live performers and characters, fire, water and fireworks during a 18-minute show that is presented twice nightly.

Starlight Dreams unfolds with a series of castle projections of Mickeys costumes during the previous anniversaries including the popular Carnival Mickey from the 15th anniversary and Sorcerer Mickey from the 10th. The opening sequence utilizes music from past anniversaries. Suddenly Mickey appears from one of the Castle balconies. The rest of the Fab Five and the cast of performers then proceed to dance through a series of musical vignettes before a water-screen on the stage is used to project images of Disney Villains as they attempt to hijack the dreams and memories of every Disney guest. The sequence is very similar to Disneylands Fantasmic! Thankfully Mickey is able to keep the forces of evil at bay in the fiery climax to the show.

Starlight Dreams is presented nightly until August 31. The third season is Halloween and commences September 12. The park will feature a new daytime parade called Lets Go Villains when the Disney Villains will attempt to hijack the parade from Mickey. There will also be a nighttime parade called Banzai Villains. The Haunted Mansion will also be redressed for Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare.

Tales from the Laughing Place Magazine is the only English-language Disney magazine to extensively feature the Tokyo Disney Resort. Issue 12 features an exclusive interview about Tokyo Disneylands 25th Anniversary parade Jubilation! with creative director Steven Davison and dozens of never-before-seen float and costume designs. Issue 13 will feature a behind-the-scenes look at the development of the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel and the creation of The Enchanted Tiki Room: Stitch Presents Aloha E Komo Mai with the resorts lead imagineer Joe Lanzisero.
