Toy Story Mania for Nintendo Wii is Previewed in Disney’s California Adventure

In a special one night preview, Disney Interactive Studios offered a look at six titles that will be featured at the 2009 Electronic Entertainment Expo. The titles included Toy Story Mania!, showcasing an array of entertaining games based on the attraction that opened last year in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s California Adventure, and featuring the iconic characters and humor from the popular Disney/Pixar “Toy Story” franchise. Guests were invited to experience Toy Story Midway Mania, the attraction, then given insider tips on how to increase their score. Following that, they were given an opportunity to play the video game version.

In Toy Story Mania!, players experience the fast-paced, zany fun of the interactive theme park experience requiring 3D glasses and involving rapid or quick-firing shooting galleries. In addition to galleries adapted from the attraction, the game includes new and original galleries and a series of mini games, all hosted by beloved characters from the movies. About 25 different games are planned. The thematically-connected levels are designed for up to two players of all ages with competitive and co-operative multiplayer options. Toy Story Mania! also includes bonus 3D features, transforming the game experience with eye-popping visuals. Developed by Papaya Studio, Toy Story Mania! will be available this fall exclusively for Wii.

The other five titles are G-Force, Spectrobes Origins, Split Second, Hannah Montana: Rock Out the Show, and Disney Sing It Pop Hits. G-Force is inspired by the upcoming Walt Disney Pictures/Jerry Bruckheimer Films release in which the government looks to an elite force of fighting guinea pigs to protect the planet. It will be available starting July, 2009 on the Wii™ home video game console, Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system, PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system, Nintendo DS™ and Windows-based PC. In addition, G-Force: The Mobile Game will also be available in June 2009 on most major wireless carriers.  G-Force: The Mobile Game is an action-strategy game featuring core members of the G-Force team and will be available for iPhone and Java/Brew platforms.

G-Force is a fast-paced action-platform game featuring a unique team of specially trained guinea pigs that use high-tech gadgets and specialized talents to complete a dangerous secret mission.  Players control Darwin, the G-Force team leader, and housefly surveillance commando Mooch.  Darwin and Mooch team up with the rest of G-Force to use their unique high-tech gadgets, stealth mastery, and pint-sized teamwork to save the world from a robot army of evil household appliances.  Actors Jon Favreau (“Hurley”), Bill Nighy (“Leonard Saber”) and Sam Rockwell (“Darwin”) reprise their roles from the motion picture.

Scheduled for release in Fall 2009, Spectrobes: Origins is an action adventure game exclusively for the Wii™ home video game console from Nintendo®. In Spectrobes: Origins, players will use the unique Wii controls to explore vast worlds, excavate three-dimensional fossils and unravel an engaging story while discovering the key to preventing a galactic threat. While immersed in the universe as never before, players will fight enemies by controlling planetary patrol officer Rallen and commanding a Spectrobe creature at his side in large-scale, real-time battles. Developed by Genki Co., Ltd., and published by Disney Interactive Studios, Spectrobes: Origins will be available only for Wii.

In Split/Second, racing to the finish line takes on added excitement when competitors trigger destruction on the track to take out their opponents. Set within the world of a hyper-competitive reality television show, players vie to be the first across the finish line in a made-for-TV city built for destruction, with the ultimate goal of becoming the season champion. Split/Second is scheduled to be released in early 2010 for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and Windows-based PC. Split/Second was developed by Black Rock Studio, the development studio behind the critically acclaimed 2008 action sports game, PURE. PURE won numerous awards including the Game Critics Award for Best Racing Game of E3 2008 and was named among the top 10 video games of 2008 by Entertainment Weekly. Formerly Climax Racing, Black Rock Studio is a development studio of Disney Interactive Studios and is based in Brighton, England.

In the first ever Hannah Montana game for the PSP, fans will not only star in the show, they will also design a custom concert in each city they visit and rock the stage as they perform as Hannah Montana to 10 hit songs, including three new tracks. Jackson and Lilly join in on the fun in Hannah Montana: Rock Out the Show PSP video game to help Hannah on her tour as they travel to seven amazing locations around the world and customize outfits, design stages and so much more. Players will add their flair to performances by creating unique routines for each song with the “Rockstar Moment” maker by customizing dance moves, lighting and special effects. Players will also be able to style the band members and the back-up dancers with amazing fashions, hair-styles and accessories. Hannah Montana: Rock Out The Show PSP will be included in a limited-edition Hannah Montana entertainment pack that includes a “Lilac” PSP System, three Hannah Montana episodes, PSP vinyl stickers and 2GB memory stick Pro Duo. Disney Interactive Studios' Hannah Montana: Rock Out the Show, rated E for Everyone, is scheduled to launch on August 4, 2009.

Disney Sing It: Pop Hits, the third game in the video-based karaoke video game franchise, will be released this fall. Disney Sing It: Pop Hits features 30 master recordings and popular music videos from fan favorites, including Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift, Colbie Caillat, Demi Lovato, Hannah Montana, Jesse McCartney, Coldplay and One Republic.
