The definitive dark ride, and one of the best theme park rides anywhere. The 2007 "re-haunting" removed some dated effects, added an outstanding new scene (the staircase), and brought audio, lighting, and projection elements into the twenty-first century. Just a great attraction.

They worked on this ride and it shows. The colors are brighter, the sounds are sharper and the graveyard is clearer. I'm happy they didn't Flip this to "Nighmare Before Christmas" like they did in D.LAND, Ca. They improved on the classic.

We came back in 2008 and while we were at the Magic Kingdom we went on this as the final real Magic Kingdom days,ride and the changes were significant it was like I had built in night vision eyes 'cause I could see everything unlike the pre-refurb version where I missed lots of details

Who doesn't love this is ride? With all the new enchancements, the Haunted Mansion at the Magic Kingdom has become my favorite HM to date.

One of my favorites, made even better now. The lightning on the pics is great, and the staircases are ultra-cool. Watch for the glowing footsteps. Also, note the family photos between the lightning section and the graveyard, especially when going backwards. Pop a couple of flash photos of them to see them later. Very neat. Now has an actual storyline as well, other than just a plain haunted house... PS. I'm so glad they got rid of the scream that went with the little things that popped up through the graveyard.

Despite my love of Disney, and desire for everyone to experience the magic, I cannot help but ruin this ride for other guests: I know the entire opening narration, so naturally, I recite the entire dialogue with the recording. It freaks people out! Anyhoo, this ride is a classic; I enjoy digesting on this cool, dark ride, after a heart meal accross the street at the Columbia Harbour House!

Along with the Tower of Terror, this is by far the best ride I was on at WDW. I went three times during the week I was there ... the Ghosts in the Grand Ballroom were beyond belief ... and the Hitchhiking Ghosts in the Doombuggy were a riot! I think I got all three in my 3 trips in! LOL

I really enjoy this ride. Great to get out of the hot sun and just a different change of pace to the rest of DL. I just read down the page, and even though I havta agree this one needs some updating like the DL has gotten, I perfer it.The Hallway of Portraits is so short, and the 5 extra scenes except for the stupid spiderwebs are awsome.I defenantly perfer the outside and the 5 scenes so all in all, I do perfer this version to DL.The cast members may not be as magical, but they are often a LOT creepier.

But one thing it does need persides newer effects is an actual story, and maybe a lil bit scarier wouldn't hurt.Even though I perfer this mansion to all others, I must say it needs a story.

It gave me nightmares and I had to close my eyes when I was 4. When I returned at age 22 I couldnt stop riding it. Tons of fun and worth a wait. Its one of those rides like the Pirates O T Carribean that dont ever need to be updated due to nostalgia.

The Mansion is my home, and as my home I've been encouraging the happy haunts to appear to all foolish mortals.

Look out for all the hidden details when riding, such as the hilarious epitaphs on the tombstones... the sinister changing portrait and a corridor of restless spirits trying to escape. This is haunting at the best. You can't find any other house in the world as haunted as mine. In fact we have 999 grim grinning ghosts here, but there's room for a thousand... any volunteers, hmmmmmm???
And just beware those hitchiking ghosts... they may try to follow you home...

This is one of the BEST rides with a THEME that I have ever been in. From the welcoming they give you, till the ghost in the end that wants to go follow you home, its a great experience. (once I even remember we went at night and we were probably the last people on the ride, and like five of the cast members that were waiting at the gates for the people to leave jumped out and scared all of us...Ahhh!!)

The mansion itself has incredible architecture, and it's size is breathtaking! The ride itself has a few things that make it different than the California counter-part. Such as the added library scene which I like. The stretch room has me fooled. I can't figure out if it takes you (really) down like DL's does.

The Haunted Mansion is classic Disney! I remember going on it as a child and now that I'm 30, it's still a fascination with me. I make it a part of my yearly park visit. It's the best! After all this time, it still amazes me and makes me get that "I'm a kid again" feeling all over again!

The description does not do it justice. This is the most fantastic attraction. The turning of the doombuggies to focus your attention is perfect. The graveyard inside has detail it would take dozens of rides to see all of. Top Notch.

This is a great ride. The Walt Disney World version is very similar to the Disneyland version, excecpt for the exterior (which I think looks spookier at Disneyland.) It is not designed to scare you (although it may scare younger children if you don't explain to them that it's pretend,) it's simply a showcase of different visual effects. This is a ride you should ride in the middle of the day when the park is busy and it's hot outside, as the line moves very very fast. Make sure you see it!

This ride is great it has great special effects and is one of the faster rides (as far as lines go) . Most kids won't be to scared either there are no jump outs on this ride . I have to say Marc Davis and the other "9 old men" did a great job in designing this ride.The ghost host has to be the greatest voice I've heard for a erie character too.

A GREAT place to go, maybe even more than once! The attraction is not scary at all however the effects really are great and make you wander how they created the show. Best time to visit is right before darkness falls over the park therefore when you come out of the attraction it will be night time and the cast members outside of the gates really fit in at this time of day!

A classic Disney ride! The WDW version is different from Disneyland's with a little different plotline and some different scenes. Sadly however, the WDW Mansion does not seem to have been maintained as well as it's older Disneyland cousin. A thourough refurbishment and some TLC would go along way in getting this classic E Ticket back into proper shape.

Sorry, just need to plug my favorate ride.. ;) it's longer than the version at Disneyland to be sure, and is in desperate need of a rehab.... wanna know why? Because most of it hasn't been touched since opening day!!!! This version contains several scenes not present in the DL version... a different load area, a portrait hall, a library, a piano room, and two scenes that revolve around staircases. While the exterior may be superior to the original Classic at Disneyland, the attraction itself has not been updated as well as the Haunted Mansion in California. A few different scenes here such as the Library are very nice - and be sure to check out all of the Imagineer's names on the tombstones outside in the queue! We certainly love Grandpa Marc!
