"Move to the dead center of the room" then when the magic door slides open, push and shove your way to your doombuggy..look for the hidden mickey on the banquet table and enjoy each and everyone of the 999 haunts..and don't pick up any hitchhikers...great & classic Disney ride.

I absolutely love New Orleans square and the Haunted Mansion. I remember riding through the mansion on the doombuggies as a child,and have visited for the last three summers, sharing those memories with my own 3 children.

The greatest ride anywhere in the world. Creepy and spooky, but not too scary for the ride. I love the dark humor and I believe the ghosts may be real.

Extensivly well-themed highly satisfying attraction, though it is a bit short. Justly one of the greatest Disney attrractions ever. One of my favorite things to do on this ride is to see "how they did it"

I Love this ride, except for the streching elevator part. That part freakes me out the most. The hanging man gave me nightmares. but overall, the ride is great.

A total blast! I go on this at least 5 times every time I go to Disneyland. Not to be missed! And FYI, I know the front looks scary for little kids, but its no very scary inside-more funny than scary.

Great ride when I was a child and still as an adult. I married Oct. 24, 2004, and went to DL. This was my first time ever on it during any holiday season. WOW! Love Nightmare Before Christmas, and I love the way they worked it into the Haunted Mansion!!! It's a MUST SEE. Even if it's not dressed up for Halloween.

i find it a vary bad idea it jsut makes it seem really corny. my husband hasnt even ever been on it, and we cant even go to see it on our aniversery cause itll be messed up with the nightmare befor christmas crap. and im even going in a few days and i cant even get to see one of my favorite rides in its original set up. i just dont like it.

Just a quick note from me. Anyone who was riding that ride in late March, if you heard someone whimpering "don't look up, don't look up" in the stretch room, that was me. :) That one part scared me witless when I was younger and I still haven't really gotten over it. My sis sure doesn't seem perturbed by the dead guy hanging from a rafter, though. *shrugs* Eh, must be her fearless nature...

Sadly to say, Maynard is no longer at Haunted mansion, he was reloacted. I love him and i will miss him. Yes and the haunted mansion is amazing, i love the holiday. The cast members there except for one ( *cough cough*) are all nice. They are so fun to be arround. I am so sad/happy to see them go off to better jobs but they will always be the best part of the haunted mansion to me.

This is a great ride. My worst experience was when i rode this when I was 3 or 4. The musis and the Ghost Hosts voice scared me alot. Since then I havent been afraid of it as much the hitchiking ghosts are idiots why would they wanna leave a great Park like Disneyland??

The pre-ride part of this is the best. I love gathering in the chamber and walking down the hall of paintings. I remembered this part best as a kid and still like it best now. So detailed, they did a great job.

Just got back from DL last month and saw the HMH. I think Corey Burton did an outstanding job as the ghost host. The ultimate tribute to Paul Frees. Other than the ghost host, I wasn't too impressed by the theming but that's probably because I'm a nostalgic kiind of guy.

Maybe Ive gotten more claustaphobic or something. But it definatley

This is one of the best rides in the park. Despite what some people think, it is not designed to scare you (although it might scare younger children,) it is simply a showcase of several visual effects. It's great, but I think it's due for a major rehab (this actually opened two years after pirates, and the animetronics seem much older.) This is a good ride to go on in the middle of the day when the park is busy, as the line is always short.

The special effects will dazzle you to no end. Amazing that the apparent nitty gritty effects (ballroom and such) are only cheap parlor tricks used very very well. Ride it, you will like it. Not as intense as the WDW version..

The doors opened over 30 years ago and it still delivers! No trip to DL is complete without a visit to the Mansion. But please please PLEASE bring back the exterior someone-walking-with-a-candle-in-the-upstairs-windows effect! WDW's is still working... DL's died years ago. Such a simple but creepy evening enhancement!

This ride is classically Disney, yet has not been fortunate enough to receive the recent loving refurbishments that nearby Pirate's has. It needs updating and TLC badly. The line rarely is longer than 15 minutes, even with all the queue opened, which is a testament to Imagineerings' 1960's people moving skills.

This is a great ride by itself but after you hear some of the spooky goings on that the CM's have to tell (about things that happen, with no explanation, while they are working there) it makes the HM just a little more creepy. (Insert Evil Laugh)

Okay, we all know that this is a Disneyland masterpiece but there must be a ton of new special effects developed since 1969 that could be incorporated into this attraction. WOULD LOVE TO SEE A MAJOR REHAB HERE! According to legend there was great debate about whether to make the exterior scary or not. Unfortunately the un-scary team won. They finally got it right many years later at Disneyland Paris.

One of the best attractions in the world, the Haunted Mansion was the first attraction built at the Park after Walt's death. It had the most anticipated opening in Disneyland's history, as the facade was built completely in 1963, but the attraction did not open until 1969! A true gem from the WED team back in the day!
