Colorful and festive overlay based on a very dark story. I'm not a big Nightmare Before Christmas fan but must admit I enjoy riding this a few times each holiday season.

Awesome ride, but the Haunted Manison Holiday theme is way too bright inside. The Graveyard Band is the best! And somebody please feed that dog before PETA gets upset.

I hated this version of the ride! If you only make it to Disneyland once a year and this is what you keep getting stuck with, it's a big let down. Leave a classic ride alone!

Being the Disney purist I am, I wasn't sure I'd like it. It's definitely a fun transformation though. I still vote for the original version, but it's still pretty cute.

when the overlay was first introduced in 2001, i didn't care for it at all. however it has really grown on me. now some 5 years later i greatly look forward to the overlay. i especially love the candles on the facade. very beautiful

Bad movie, bad holiday re-vamp of a classic! If you want to add some holiday cheer, fine; but don't completely mess it up! Again, there's nothing like the real thing. And, to add to other's comments, my husband has never seen the real thing either; too bad he won't get to again this year!

Loved the exterior theming, and the Tim Burton colors and look of the ride. The "Hitchhiking Ghosts" scene didn't seem to work as well with the Nightmare Before Christmas frames around the mirrors though...

I REALLY LOVE the original Haunted Mansion and don't get me wrong, I like this one too, but to me it wasn't AT ALL scary and that's the whole point of the ride. But I like how the outside is decorated! Plus, it sets the theme for Halloween and Christmas.

why should i have to plan my trip around wether or not a ride will be screwed up or not. my husband has never been on it and so, we cant even go on our aniversary. cause in november that ride is decked out in that rediculous nightmare befor christmas crap. it is just a bad idea to mess with the rides in that way.

I don't know why some people don't like this brilliant version of a Disneyland classic. It makes the ride more contemporary, despite that its original technology was already nothing short of amazing. This is just adding more memories to newcomers to Disneyland.

Very fun to enjoy. The 2001 version was probably the best one, as it had creepy HM-style music and a more eerie vibe linked with the holiday mayhem. The subsequent versions are just holiday mayhem, but it still holds up well. If you have only one chance to go to Disneyland, you shouldn't even go during these months. The summer months is when you'd find Disney at its originality.

Poo Poo Poo! Why the heck would Disney mess with The Haunted Mansion. I'm totally with Dark_Disney_Princess. I'm going on the 6th of Oct. for MY WEDDING ANNIVERSARY too and their gonna have it instead of the original. Why, I simply ask WHY?!

nightmare before christmas is one of my favorite movies. I love the attraction at disneyland, but they could've done without so many one dimension cut-outs and had much more interactions with animatronics. All and all the ride is pretty awesome

I went on this twice in one Visit. This ride wasnt even scary since the Nightmare before Christmas characters made it alot more funny. By the way my Brother Eric reminds me of Lock one of those little punks in the movie since Eric can act like a punk too or maybe he isnt acting. Just kidding

I don't care for holiday theming of rides. If you only got to Disneyland once in your life it would be a shame to have the Haunted Mansion and It's a Small World pre-empted by their holiday replacements. But having said that ... the theming is awesome. Creepy and fun. Brilliant.

Just got back from DL last month and saw the HMH. I think Corey Burton did an outstanding job as the ghost host. The ultimate tribute to Paul Frees. Other than the ghost host, I wasn't too impressed by the theming but that's probably because I'm a nostalgic kind of guy.

While I didn't enjoy the holiday changes, they did make some parts of the ride less scary for the younger guests (less crying noticed).

The Holiday Mansion is pretty incredible! Disney really surprised me with the attention to detail they paid with this. This is not just an attraction overdressing (like Small World), it's a complete overhaul. The stretching gallery really sets the right tone for this "new" mansion. It's twisted, diabolical, and enchanting. Though it's not as spooky as the original. All in all, this is the best thing I've seen Disney do in many, many years. I'm glad to see it's coming back annually!

Amazingly thourough makeover of a Disneyland Classic. Less scary and more playfull, this Mansion inspires mischievious giggles as opposed to the reserved scares of the original.

The Mansion got under my skin when I was 6 years old, and Nightmare since '93. Both together?! BRAVO!!
