A simple mode of transportation to the adventure that awaits you on the island.

i like other disney purists, was very worried about the pirate overlay of tsi, but i needed not worry. the overlay is very well done and doesn't detract from what make the island such a special place, the caves, treehouse, and bridges are still as fun as ever.

Trying to tie the island into Pirates is a joke...this will always be Tom's Island...a place for the child and the child still within us to explore, dream and enjoy...live on Tom, Huck and Becky (back to the Black Pearl, Jack, Will & Elizabeth).

The island looks great now! Everything but the fort has been fixed up and now Tom and Huck make appearances on the island. It is nice to see that the island is magical again!!

I remember loving this at WDW when I was 7 and I love it now at DL now when I'm 13!!! I especially love the caves and the bridges, the fort is soooo cool too!

cute---nostalgic--sometimes cramped, but that adds to the charm.

An absolute sanity-saver for families with younger children! A great break for the kids from standing in lines and having to "behave." When the crowds close in and the whining starts, pack 'em over to the island and turn 'em loose!

Went there at 7 tears in 1969;
to hear my mom tell it,
they're still waiting for me
to return; my 5 yr old is the same way.

Those caves are just a Pooh-in-the-rabbit-hole moment waiting to happen...

My youngest sister and I (age 20) explored the island for the first time. Wish I could have been here when I was 9-10, but I was able to fit into Injun Joe's caves, and almost spooked my sister. The wooden brdges and all were very cool, though we didn't get around to the fort. Well, there's always next time.

After a day of paitently waiting in lines, kids really need something to climb on and run around on.

Don't ever take it out!

great place to relax

Not exactly a ride, but it serves it's purpose as a transport ride well. Be sure to grab the Barrels for the best seating.

The Island could use some updating and freshening, it is definitely showing it's age. And how do they get the river water so darn green?

Rumored to be the only attraction at Disneyland designed by Walt himself. A lot of fun, epecially if you have kids in tow.

More fun with little kids, if you can find 'em

I still love crawling all over the caves on the Island though I don't fit as well anymore.

Lots of fun to be had exploring the caves over on the Island!

It's just transportation! However, the island is great to get away from the crowd.

The Rafts and the Island are an important part of many peoples' childhood memories of Disneyland. The cave below Fort Wilderness was blocked off for many years and used as storage until it recently was re-opened for guest use.
