Editor: Denise Thrill: 2 Theme: 4 Overall: 4 (9/1/2007)If I could only experience one more attraction for the rest of my life, this would be it. It's magical, nostalgic and just so special. The song sends a beautiful message that should be heard by all. I'm forever grateful to the creators of this gem.

User ID: JobyCA65 Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: Unrated (1/31/2009)This is one of those attractions that makes Disneyland what it is. A very special place. I love It's a Small World, and it never fails to put a smile on my face. I, too, worked the attraction for several years, and never tired of it, especially when it came to seeing the expressions on the children's faces as their boats returned to the dock. A very colorful attraction with a magical, memorable tune. A true Disney classic!
User ID: Walter Elias Thrill: 2 Theme: 4 Overall: 4 (6/18/2008)
A timeless wonderment! If I were not able to visit this ride I would be heart-broken. It is such a part of my history and my children's history that it is a destination in and of itself. I can picture in my mind certain details of the ride and most of it has not changed a bit since I first visited as a child. If I am at all tired or feeling irritable, once around "it's a small world" and I am energized and happy once again. It's like a cool drink of water or an oasis in the desert.
User ID: DLrunner Thrill: Unrated Theme: 4 Overall: 3 (3/25/2008)
God I hate this ride! It's a classic though and I know it's for kids. But once you get that song in your head it will drive you insane! Why Walt, why???
User ID: ryanbalas Thrill: 3 Theme: 4 Overall: 4 (3/6/2008)
Small World is a great ride for small children and families with small children wishing to escape the chaos of the park on a busy day. After a time, you spot little details that make each visit more special.
User ID: brerdouglas Thrill: 4 Theme: 4 Overall: 4 (2/9/2008)
Sadly for many of us this popular attraction will be out of service until late next November for this is a very good ride
User ID: dresswhites Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: Unrated (1/26/2008)
small world closed jan23 2008 til nov 2008. ah these words make me sad. i will miss you old friend, we will see you later this year!!
User ID: USCSurfer Thrill: 3 Theme: 4 Overall: 4 (1/22/2008)
Still my favorite in Fantasyland. You can't get any more Disney than Small World. The moment you see the beautiful facade, hear the tick-tock of the clock, and feel the motion of the boat as it is dispatched, this is what Disney is all about. Fun, full of memories, and a purely classical ride experience. Worked it for several years, and never got sick of the song either. A refreshing attraction, in an oft-times tumultuous world.

User ID: goofycathy Thrill: Unrated Theme: 3 Overall: 3 (8/22/2007)
This is a Disney classic even if the song does get stuck in your head, I would never go to DL without riding this ride.....even if it is for the air-conditioning!
User ID: sfgam2006 Thrill: 1 Theme: 3 Overall: 1 (7/26/2007)
This is the most annoying ride ever created in the history of history. I will never get the theme song stuck out of my head. "It's a Small World after all, it's a small world after all, it's a small world after all, it's a small, small world" :(
User ID: tweetie_girl Thrill: 2 Theme: 4 Overall: 3 (4/1/2007)
Fun ride for all ages, although the song gets stuck in your head:(
User ID: evilbunny Thrill: 2 Theme: 3 Overall: 3 (2/17/2007)
This isn't a thrill ride. This is a family attraction, a moment to share with other people while you relax. Try to avoid it during a parade as they start right in front of the ride.
User ID: Sir Charles Thrill: 2 Theme: 4 Overall: 4 (1/24/2007)
Man, do I love this ride! So peaceful and cheery! I don't mind the song either (though I think a suggestion I read somewhere that riders be issued 3 soft balls apiece for the 'cruise' is funny).
User ID: stitchbabe Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 3 (11/24/2006)
It's a great ride when you want to relax.(Even though the song can get annoying or stuck in your head)
User ID: dresswhites Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (10/7/2006)
i know i am wierd, but this is one of my most favorite attractions at disneyland. the facade is incredibly cool. Also i think the theme and song are very relevant in today's chaotic world.
User ID: myspace_sucks Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 1 (8/27/2006)
this ride is so boring! it's good for little kids but i fell asleep...
User ID: indysoarin19 Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 2 (7/15/2006)
I loved this ride as a kid, but now, it gets annoying really fast. A classic though, nonetheless, with greatly detailed dolls and sets.
User ID: wc Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (5/30/2006)
If one wants to get an impression of Walt Disney as a person, then you must ride this attraction. Of all the attractions at Disneyland I think that this one gets closest to who he was personally.
Yes it was Mary Blair who did most of the design and Alice Davis who did the costumes but it was Walt's personality that shines through!
User ID: plus4db Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (4/15/2006)
The world today could use a Walt Disney. This ride helps me feel more optimistic about the world. Thanks Walt.

User ID: SillySully Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 3 (4/17/2005)
This ride may not be the most exciting but at 14 years old I still love it. I'ts a ride where you can relax and enjoy the beauty of the magic.
User ID: The_Princess_Ariel Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 3 (10/3/2004)
This was my favorite ride when I was a kid. Then as I got older and realized that once I rode it I could never get that song stuck out of my head, I stopped going! I'll be back when I have kids, I'm sure.
User ID: disneymom5 Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (7/4/2004)
Very cute attraction.... My husband rode for the first time, and loved it !! The teens in our family were a bit bored, but, what do you expect from kids that age ?? The rest of us loved it....
User ID: iluvstitch Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (6/8/2004)
I love this ride. All the colors just make you so happy! However, if you hate singing dolls, or rather the song they're singing do not, I repeat do not board the boat!
User ID: OC-Supertones4Life Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (8/15/2003)

User ID: Brer Doug Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 3 (7/2/2003)
This is a wonderful ride to go on to escape the summer heat. Its nice and cool inside I only wish that the ride had a few small hills to go under Disneyland to see even more countries
User ID: nikalas Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 3 (6/29/2003)
I love this attration. It was one of my favs as a kid and even now. There are so many things to look at that you see something new everytime.
User ID: HannaHH Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 2 (6/29/2003)
It's good, and a "must-do", but only out of tradition. Otherwise it's intolerable.
User ID: mosquito Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (5/23/2003)
I love the high ceilings and typical "water ride smell" It's larger than life and makes you feel so small, like a kid again. One of my favorites even with the repetitious song!

User ID: disneygirl77 Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 3 (4/1/2003)
It took me a few trips around Disneyland before I acctually went on this because everyone I knew said it was annoying. I acctually found it rather enjoyable and I personally LOVE the song. Have you ever acctually paid attention to the WORDS!? There's a really good message there that transends time. Walt knew that!
User ID: 15yearDisneylandVet Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 2 (2/27/2003)
This is an ok ride but it is more for children. The song is annoying.
User ID: Day Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (2/18/2003)
I live in Arizona, and quite often I will come across somebody who is humming that song. I just laugh, because everytime I go to Disneyland, I don't even have to ride the ride, i just walk past it and i get the song stuck in my head the rest of the day. It's a classic.
User ID: dizneegrrl Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 3 (1/20/2003)
šoš I like this ride, it's a disney classic. Yes, be prepared to have the song stuck in your head, but disneyland wouldn't be the same without it. This is a great ride. šoš

what is Disneyland <<<THE NAME!!! take a better look! Disneys land ! not spin it off the common amusement park! you want a different park? (GO TO ANOTHER ONE!) Disneyland is a hard work of a dream come true! the hopes and dreams of a history of richness .that surpassed any parks on this planet! the foundation is the classics!(and its a small world is a classic ) those creations of the company named DISNEY ! and its still makeing a living off of them! our dreams and hopes for a better past ,future, fantacy, and all our explorations ! is still surviving in this generation!in this place called DISNEYLAND! and it is rich in its followers of walts and his companys vision for it! to take away any of this is to chip away at its vary heart! the foundation! and would render us with nothing to dream of as we look to the heart of the child inside.THAT BELIEVES IN THE PURE ! as long as DISNEYLAND shares in that magic of flying second star to the right! and a dream is a wish your heart makes, and the whole concept of what sets it apart . WE WILL HOLD ON TO THIS ! AND NEVER LET GO!

User ID: Coasterhahn Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 3 (4/10/2001)
This is a Disney classic, pure and simple. It's a must ride for every visit, especially if you have young children. I loved "it's a small world" at the New York World's Fair as a young child, now I watch my own child's eyes sparkle when he sees it. Pure Disney magic!
User ID: skarolyn99 Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 3 (4/10/2001)
I have never been to the Small World ride in DL, but i enjoy the one in WDW... its not that exciting or anything, but its a classic and its also a nice airconditioned ride to cool you down on a hot day :)
User ID: KatieAnn559 Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (4/10/2001)
A Disneyland tradition, it would not be the same without it. At Christmas it is breathtaking.
User ID: Coheteboy Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 2 (4/10/2001)
At the time this attraction is nothing short of remarkable but of course times have changed. I think it is/will always be a Disney classic. Though I can't ride this everytime, I'd be sad if I wasn't able to see the great exterior design while in Disneyland. The WDW exterior is pretty awful, I must say. 2/4
User ID: davisfh Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (4/10/2001)

User ID: SleepingBeauty82 Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 3 (4/8/2001)
This used to be my favorite when I was a kid.
When I rode it, I felt like I was in a whole
other world and it didnt truly feel like we were
at Disneyland till we went on it. Now that Im older
it's lost some of it's charm. It seems I notice
things like giant exit signs and power chords now
more then when I was little. But I still go on it
everytime, to remember what it was like to be little.
User ID: funnymanjake Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 1 (4/4/2001)
Level this ride, and put it out of it's misery. I hear that song one more time, I'll have to be institutionalized.
User ID: HeatherM Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (3/12/2001)
I think that every political, religous, and financial world leader should be required to ride this attraction at least once a year! I think we would have a better world...
User ID: Aaron-o Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 1 (2/27/2001)
This ride is a Disneyland classic, and I respect that. I like the outside if it, especially the Christmas version. This ride, however, has a strange non-Disney feel to it. I know this sounds wierd, but this ride, in some strange way, actually gives me the creeps! It gives me the willies in a way that no other Disneyland ride does. I can't explain it. It' not the excessive cuteness. It's not the repetitive soundtrack. It's something more subtile.......intangible.
Perhaps I need professional help! Anyway, I give this ride my lowest rateing.
User ID: Jenn31 Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (2/25/2001)
Another classic you have to ride. Although my father thinks they should give us all paint ball guns and have a target practice while riding by..
User ID: Imagineerguy Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 2 (2/16/2001)
It's definately classic Disney. As for myself, I'll stick with the modern Disney attractions.

User ID: maxybrett Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 3 (9/29/2000)
This is an original ride that you just have to love because it is classic
"old" Disney before hi-tech came into play. I used to hear about this ride as a child
but my parents never took me and my sister to Disney. Seeing the ride now in operation
helps me become the "kid" again!
User ID: jeremywilliams Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 2 (9/29/2000)
Great ride for kids especially. Maintainance needs to be kept up with. Especially love the "holiday" version; I never miss it!
User ID: JustLovePooh Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (9/29/2000)
This is one of my favorite rides at DL! It's a sentimental favorite and I think it's message is a wonderful one. Almost everyone who rides it can find one area where the dolls of the world are singing in their language. Please Disneyland, paint it's exterior! It's badly in need of a paint job! And I know it's not the maintenance department's fault for not getting it done. They need to be given the *money* to get it done! It's a treasure. Please don't neglect it any longer!
User ID: OrangeBird Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (9/29/2000)

Holy jumpin' Mary Blair, have the Sherman brothers released an evil into the world with that accursed song! Disney at it's most abstract... and you thought the flyin' whales in "Fantasia 2000" were strange...

This ride is okay. It is definately much bettter on the inside due to a recent rehab, but the outside is as dull and faded as ever. Still, that thing takes up an enormous ammount of space. I say take it out (or adapt it to a smaller complex) and put in a new Indy-quality ride!

A day at Disneyland just isn't complete without a ride on Small World. It's such a classic tradition.
User ID: Coop Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 3 (6/6/2000)
I grew up on the east coast and always visited Disney World as a kid and got used to their bright and airy Small World where you were surrounded by water at all times. Then, finally in '95 we visited Disneyland to find it entirely different. The ride was dark, with many set pieces broken, and you rode through in a trough where you could look down and see power cords and maintenance items. DL's SMALL WORLD NEEDS A REHAB.... or at least a dusting.
User ID: cwmm Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (6/6/2000)

User ID: Phillip Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (6/6/2000)
Jokes about the song aside, this really is a Disney classic. Walt's concept still has charm, and the newly refurbished ride has lots to look at. The DL version's facade is by far one of the most impressive Disney landmarks.

A charming ride, though understandably not for everyone given its repetitive theme song. The ride can't be missed at Christmas--it's stunning when decked out, both inside and out, with thousands and thousands of lights and Christmas decorations.

This ride is definitely for a younger demographic. It's not that I hate it's a small world (I don't), but I've had no desire to go on this ride in *years*.

I love this ride. It is my absolute favorite. It's great to go on this with a small child or baby. They have a look of amazement on their faces the entire time.

Great Facade (when it's kept clean!)....nice ride...long, cool, mellow. Someday I hope to see the IaSW XMas makeover.

Sure the music may be a nerving, but it's a classic... so I don't complain. Disney really isn't Disney without it. Cute dolls though, I gotta agree. It's such an extensive attraction with all the lights, props, and, mechanics that it would be a shame to take it all down.

AHH!! MAKE EM STOP!! MAKE EM STOP FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!! Just kidding..no I think the ride's nice. Can't imagine the park without this one. Way better than florida's

I would remove it and replace it with a ride based on `FANTASIA`.

I love watching my little girls eyes light up on this ride, her fav is the purple hippo followed by the hulla kids

They should put the space to better use, or run the christmas change all year long. After you have seen it once you really don't want to see it again.

It may be old, it may be run down, but it is a touching tribute to the peoples and cultures of the world, and therefore something of great value.

well, it was great the first time, but after the last 50 rides or so...

To me, it's a small world embodies the Disney spirit of harmony.

I agree..good ride to go on if your feet are tired and you just want a break...but it's cute.
User ID: jdog49 Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 3 (3/29/2000)
it is a classic, not my fav but it is a good ride for the kids.

Beautiful outside facade.
Extremely detailed.

I love this ride, but I usually have to drag my husband (who's dragging his feet and rolling his eyes) to get him on too
User ID: sharpeipup Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 3 (3/29/2000)
A Disney classic period. In this location though, the exterior is even more intertaining than the ride.

It's an icon of all that was great about Disney in the 60's...still love it after all these years!
User ID: newrush Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 3 (3/29/2000)
It's Old, But I still love it. I remeber when I was kid I would ride it just to count my Tickets.

At night, when you and that special someone are all alone. Next thing you know, you're kissing in front of a bunch of dolls.

would rather have my teeth cleaned with barbed wire!

It's painfully kitschy and decidedly mid-20th century, but somehow it seems to still entertain and amuse in the 21st century. A trip to Disneyland without a ride thru Small World is Un-American.
User ID: beth_jetset Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (1/23/2000)
Classic...do this one after a long hot day at the park. A few cool relaxing minutes off your feet.

Wish they'd had the song in the different languages. Enjoyed it anyway & I didn't think I would.

Boring...change it now!

"It's a small world Christmas" a most pleasant surprise. The loading area for this ride is so beautiful, I love it.
User ID: damon63 Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 3 (1/16/2000)
Another attraction that puts the "magic" in the Magic Kingdom. For pacing and showmanship the Disneyland Paris installation of this show is much better. Perhaps they will incorporate some of these changes into the rumored upcoming rehab at Disneyland
User ID: DL-2000 Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 3 (1/8/2000)
A lot of people can't stand the song but I love it. The ride itself is very elaborate. Worth riding once.

Best during Holiday Season.

This is a biggie when it comes to Disney history. Originally created for a World's Fair in the 1960s, It's A Small World has a permanent home now at Disneyland. A few years ago, the original color scheme of the famous facade was changed from the blue, white and gold spires that millions knew and loved to an odd, pastel mix that still leaves fans stratching their heads (it was painted similarly to Disneyland Paris'). Within the past few years, the soundtrack was updated to Paris' version and the sound system was replaced to an incredible surround setup that is wonderful. The sets need a LOT of work - have for a long time - but the attraction remains near and dear to many hearts world-wide. Christmas now comes to Small World at Disneyland in a BIG, beautiful way that has now become a new tradition. Hopefully, that treat will spread to the other Magic Kingdoms as well!
