You'll get your excercise on this attraction. Not recommended for folks with bad knees but there is plenty to see at the base of the tree as well. This is a big hit with the little ones.

why the hate for this attraction? i think it a really cool, imagintive walkthru. i love the views from the top. sometimes i will spend a few minutes soaking in the westside of the park. it makes me happy

User ID: USCSurfer   Thrill: 3  Theme: 3  Overall: 3 (1/22/2008)
Wish the ol' tree still belonged to the Swiss Family Robinson. Oh well.

User ID: Tinkeroon   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: 3  Overall: 3 (8/14/2007)
It's fun to do from time to time. But better to do it earlier in the day when your legs aren't so tired. The younger pre-teen (and earlier) set should enjoy this the most. The view is really nice though.

User ID: Grumpy Pete   Thrill: 2  Theme: 3  Overall: 2 (7/1/2007)
It's OK, but not good. It isn't as good as the Swiss Family Robinson was. SFR technology (The water system) was absolutely fascinating.

User ID: Sir Charles   Thrill: 2  Theme: 3  Overall: 2 (1/24/2007)
Fun to climb once, or to take pictures from atop it's peak. One can probably skip this with a clear concience.

Better for the younger group. but still good.

classic Disney with a slight update for the new generation.

The swiss family tree house was so much better. They didn't need to change this one.

User ID: darcy-becker   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 2 (8/27/2005)
I too liked the Swiss Family Tree House better but it was still fun. My niece wasn't familiar with the Swiss Family Robinson so Tarzan was fine with her.

User ID: superhero99   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 1 (7/22/2005)
The Swiss Family Treehouse should return! It was much better as that! This is boring.

User ID: jones_adventurer   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (7/8/2005)
Although it isn't a ride, I am afraid of heights, and boy, when I came to crossing that wiggly bridge way up there, I ran!! I was so eager to just get through the course of the treehouse that I barely stopped to look at what was in front of me because I was worried about how far things were below me! Next time, I'll try to have even more fun! Go on this if you're afraid of heights!

I hate this attraction due to the many steps that I had to climb only to have to climb all the way down too I mean come on why dont they put an elevator in here for us so we dont have to kill ourselves walking up and down so many stairs?

User ID: CrayZforDisney   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 1 (6/8/2003)
Oh, boy! Walking through a giant tree seeing cheap Tarzan sets! Not Disney quality.

User ID: usmclass   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 2 (6/3/2003)
Cute... but not the classic Swiss Family was. Disney needs to stop trying to re-write or throw away the past just to have something "NEW" to draw in the kids. Thats why they have DCA.

User ID: dizneegrrl   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 1 (1/19/2003)
I hate to say that I dislike this attraction, but I really do. I miss Swiss Family Robinson...a lot. It had a lot of charm and was a classic and had that disney magic to it. This was just a campaign to profit out of the movie, unfortunately. I am biased, but I think you have to look at the past to judge the present.

User ID: kauinca   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 2 (6/17/2002)
I miss the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse. In my opinion, 'updating' classics is not neccessary.

This interactive treehouse attraction based on the "hit" movie Tarzan does it's job. That job being to modernize an aging attraction and bring it up to speed for one of disney's biggest target audiences. They inventively reworked the walkways, and even extended the walkthrough time. The occasional character meet and greets at the end are a nice touch too. Unfortunately the interactive aspect of this "interactive" walkthrough is kept to a minimum and left until the end, and is marred by the memory of a truly beloved attraction. It tries to recycle too much from the Swiss Family Robbinson Treehouse, while trying to get away with sparingly inserting cartoonish figures and re-leafing the tree. I suppose I am biased to the old attraction, but it really didn't feel like the new attraction was engaging enough to make me forget the experience that it was before. Children may enjoy it, but don't take them through unless the traffic seems to be moving at a steady pace, perhaps even wait until the evening to do so. At that time, even if you are waiting for a slower group to lead the way through the treehouse, it will be cooler, and you will have the spectacular view of Disnayland at night to enjoy.

User ID: KatieAnn559   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 3 (4/23/2001)
It's alright but I liked the Swiss Family Treehouse better.

User ID: RGS41   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 1 (4/23/2001)
The Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse was an excellent attraction. The destruction of it in order to showcase the latest Disney cartoon has destroyed the attraction. The nautical theme of the treehouse is poorly suited for the African jungle theme of the cartoon. Put it back or tear it down.

User ID: BELLEROSE   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 2 (4/23/2001)
I will always prefer the Swiss Family Treehouse over Tarzan's Treehouse. I just think it's so boring now.

User ID: jasbir67   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 2 (4/23/2001)
the worst thing about the tree house redux is that when you are at the topmost levels, you can look down on all the rooftops of the frontierland/adventureland restaurants and shops. I haven't heard anyone else complain about this, but i find it awful.

User ID: Coheteboy   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 2 (4/23/2001)
Though I like the look of the treehouse, I would love for this to be a queue of something better. I like the concept but execution is a bit lacking. 2/4

User ID: funnymanjake   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 2 (3/29/2001)
Preeetty low, is all I can say. Swiss was a classic, and Tarzan seems to be a quick, shoddy put-together to replace it, as well as a shrewd marketing ploy to plug their film. Disappointing at best.

User ID: WDWEC   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 2 (2/13/2001)
SFR was much better in all ways. Tarzan is new and is run-down all ready...as it seems a lot of DL is to date...with DCA open, maybe some funding will be found for DL repairs...it's a shame for DL to look the way it does, but looks don't make money...or do they???

User ID: thestargirl   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 2 (2/13/2001)

The SFR Treehouse was so much better, especially for thoes who have seen the movie. Detail is certainly lacking in the molded plastic Treehouse of today.

User ID: seanscottusa   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 2 (10/15/2000)
they tried to make it good and it might have been except that it replaced swiss family treehouse which wasn't wonderful as like indy but it was great in a different way. it was like being able to be in a movie and you felt like you were in the actual treehouse they used b/c of the attention disney paid to detail. tarzan just looks slapped together from the leftovers of swiss and whatever they could fit in from the movie

User ID: filmschool   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 2 (10/9/2000)
Interesting to look at, but kind of hokey "plastic" charachters from the movie. The drawings would have been enough. I'm glad that they have the record playing music from Swiss family Robinson at the end.

User ID: jeremywilliams   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 2 (10/9/2000)
Nice revamp to an unfortunately abandoned attraction. Those of us nostalgic folk appreciate the tribute to the Robinsons by the turntable music at the end.

User ID: Jim in Pasadena CA   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 3 (10/9/2000)
A welcome change from the dated and tired Swiss Family Treehouse. "Tarzan" gives it a more up-to-date feel without getting rid of the treehouse completely. Good work.

User ID: Sultanwrd   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 2 (10/9/2000)

I was sad to see the SFR Treehouse go, but I figured that Disney would do a good job with the new Tarzan Treehouse. After going through it I was very disappointed. SFR was by far better then Tarzan. Bring back SFR.

I was amazed how the Imagineers transformed the SFR TreeHouse into Tarzan by reversing the circulation, re-leafing the tree and remodeling the living quarters, not to mention adding a cool suspension bridge tied to a newly constructed ship mast. The music played on the ground level RCA victrolla is a warm reminder to us repeat DL visitors that SFR TreeHouse is not forgotten!

User ID: Blue Bayou   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 3 (7/19/2000)

User ID: MINNIE-CUTIE   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 3 (7/19/2000)
I totally liked SFR treehouse, and now it will be forgotten at Disneyland, but DisneyWorld still has it, so the magic will live on. Tarzan treeehouse is pretty cool as well.

User ID: UnclPumbaa   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 2 (7/19/2000)
I was expecting a bit more from this redo. I thought if Disney was going to change this attraction, they would have tried to improve upon the original. It is really about the same, only re-themed to a newer Disney film. I thought the figures should of had some minimal movement to them and young Tantor should have been included instead of a "little squirt" elephant from the Jungle Cruise.

User ID: DCAGuy2   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (7/19/2000)
I love Tarzan's Treehouse. SFRT was one of my favorites at Disneyland and I climbed it every visit. Tarzan moving in was the best thing that ever happened to the Treehouse and I'm thrilled to see it there. It's very entertaining.

User ID: jmliss   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 3 (7/19/2000)
I was pleasantly surprised by it the first time I went on it. I really enjoyed the Classic Swiss Family Robinson movie, but I found the SWF house incredibly boring. Tarzan's Treehouse is much more interactive and guest-friendly. I enjoy it a lot more, and I have seen for myself that kids seem to as well. I think the powers that be made the right call on this one.

User ID: disneycat   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 1 (7/19/2000)

I really don't care for this attraction. I was upset that they replaced the Swiss Family Treehouse, but I rarely (In fact I think it was once or twice) that I visited the SFTHouse. I heard though that they we're going to clost the tree house or replace it with Tarzan theme. If it means preventing the loss of yet another attraction, so be it re-theme it. I do think that the Imagineers did a good job with a low budget though!

User ID: MissChild   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: Unrated (7/2/2000)
People actually check it out now. In its Swiss days, they just strolled on past. I think the remodeling was sorely needed.

Never been on it. My own gut feelings tell me to steer from it because I know I'll be disappointed. I feel Disney Movies and Disney Parks should keep mildly seprate..but with the WDW Tiki Room, and this Tarzan Treehouse, it doesn't belong in Adventureland..too cartoonish.

User ID: ophellia   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 2 (5/17/2000)
I think that the thing that made Disneyland famous originally was the reality of the exhibits. It has always been a Disneyland policy to go for excellence in everything. Tarzan's Treehouse has the worst/cheapest looking animals in the whole park. It ruins the exhibit. We miss the authenticity of the Swiss Family Treehouse and the mental images that Edgar Rice Burroughs tried to give the world and these cheap plastic looking characters are trying to take away.

User ID: cwmm   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (5/17/2000)

Great addition to Adventureland. People complain because it replaced a classic, but it's great to see kids (and adults) enjoying the attraction instead of just walking right past. A line for the treehouse - who'd have thought? The interactive stuff is great.

I don't really care for the Tarzan theming--and, in terms of presenting a show, nothing has been worse than having crowds. The Swiss Family Treehouse didn't draw crowds which allowed time for meandering, pausing, reflecting, noticing details. Tarzan's endless stream of bodies pushes you through and makes you wait, wait, wait. Oh, well, I know people enjoy it a lot. Even though that elephant is cute, the Swiss Family water system was more special.

User ID: Gregmh48   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 2 (3/30/2000)
This ride is not bad at all for a treehouse. It is definently a step above the Swiss Family Treehouse by allowing more interaction with the sets.

The Treehouse is a wonderful accomplishment of the Disneyland Design Studio team headed by Tony Baxter and now ex-Imagineer, Bob Baranick.
