A true Magic Kingdom classic. It's so nostalgic and really makes your imagination soar. It's so overlooked and underrated. A day at the Magic Kingdom is not complete without a ride on the Carousel of Progress. It never gets old to me eve nthough I can basically mouth off each and every word.

My kids love when the teather moves (I did too because it means we're closer to the end) way to long! people like the "classic" value, well Disney is not a museum so update that thing already!
User ID: Nate The Great Thrill: 3 Theme: 4 Overall: 4 (11/21/2007)
One of the best and most underrated shows on the property, the Carousel of Progress is one of those attractions that should have a permanent place in the Magic Kingdom.
User ID: danzin2it Thrill: 1 Theme: 2 Overall: 2 (5/22/2007)
You should definitely see this at least once but the song is comparable to "it's a small world".
User ID: WolfDreamer Thrill: 2 Theme: 3 Overall: 3 (4/12/2007)
I remember riding this with my grandfather when I was younger. It makes a little more sense now, as an adult. This is one of the most dedicated rides/shows to Walt Disney's message of progress. If you've been on this ride and remember it clearly, go see Meet the Robinsons and you'll appreciate both of them a little more.
User ID: Time8 Thrill: 4 Theme: 4 Overall: 4 (3/1/2007)
This is still a fantastic attraction. It stimulates your imagination and your fondnest for the past. I thrills you with the good old days, or as it is said now "back in the day", and still gets you excited about a positive future. This is one of my favorite attractions in all of WDW !! I hope it never goes the way of Horizons or World of Motion. It they have to modernize the mechanics of this attraction it would be worth the time and expense..
User ID: copperbottom19 Thrill: 1 Theme: 1 Overall: 4 (7/11/2006)
How did this ride get a 4? I dunna. It just did.

User ID: Antcomp Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: Unrated (1/6/2006)
I have never been on the ride (but plan to next tim I visit, I line in NV. I was told that Walt Said this was his favorite actraction and hoped it would opperate as long as it was open. So Walt has given them the choice keep the Carousel spining or close the Magic Kingdom. Isn't there something about honoring the wishes of the deceased?
User ID: spaceshiphorizons Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (1/5/2006)
the first and only remaining carousel theater show and still the best. see classic disney theme park entertainment at it's finest. It should be open all year long
User ID: MrToadWildRider Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (11/4/2005)
Man they dropped the ballon the rating again :) 2/4?? For CoP?? Blasphemy.
This is always enjoyable. Good AA figures, educational, fun, and nice and cool in there. Plus, there's almost never a wait if you show up at the start of the show.
A 4 ride :) You must see this!

This is one of my very favourite Disney attractions, again unique only to the Disney company. I am very upset when I last visited the park to find it closed, only to re-open seasonally which is a shame. I enjoy the theme-tune alot, much more then I do 'It's A Small World' (In fact, this is more likely to stick in your head!). The show itself is educational yet very entertaining and I give credit to the company for this unique 'threatre' system. The name originally gave the impression (to me) that it was literally a carrousel, but instead, it was A LOT better then just that. I'd love to learn more about it and I hope to see it again when I next visit in the future. Overall, the perfect attraction to complete your visit, or a least to be seen once and appreciated fully.
User ID: gordonfan Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (5/17/2004)
Excellent, you must go on it everytime you go to Disney World or you got an uncompleted Disney Vacation.
User ID: ridermage Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 3 (4/30/2004)
This is a pretty neat ride, and again, I was disappointed that it is now only seasonal.

If you have never seen it, make it a point to. This is a part of americana and history. By the way, you will never get that song out of your head.
User ID: Ohiofamily Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (9/8/2003)
Took my kids on this thinking they probably wouldn't like it, but that it would be good for them (educational). It was very educational, and they actually loved it! They asked to go on it over and over. We ended up riding it 7 times in 3 days, until I finally said no more! They were fascinated by the robotics and seeing history come alive and made real. We all loved this ride. I hope Disney realizes that it is rides like this that distinguish it from regional amusement parks. This ride is still cool after 40 years. Added benefits: a good place to cool off and rest your feet, or to get out of the rain, or to wait for fast-pass times. There is more than nostalgic value in this ride -- it reflects the ingenuity, genius, skill and values of the time when Disney had a deserved lock on family entertainment.
User ID: nats Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (8/10/2003)
This a great attraction. I lived through all of these periods and it rally brings back memories. It would be a catastrophy if they get rid of this. It was one of Walt's greatest triumphs
User ID: MickeyManiac Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (7/1/2003)
Great way to see life before "the future". The one thing about this attraction is that it is so old that sometimes the characters and timing goes wrong and you miss a lot of the ride.

User ID: ninafeliz1 Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (3/11/2001)
I love this ride! I always have, and I'll be very sad if they close it for good (like the rumors I've been hearing say they are going to do). This is a Disney classic. I still remembeor the old song "Now is the time". I will always have a soft spot in my heart for this one.

User ID: purpleEnergy Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (1/26/2001)
This is such a good ride!!! I will be sad to see this ride go too :( I am surprised they are even considering taking this ride out since it was one of Walt's own creations.
User ID: ashermel Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 3 (1/26/2001)
Great piece of Disney Theme Park history. Will be very sad to see this attraction go away. I understand that it is scheduled for closure at it's current home, The Magic Kingdom. Perhaps it could move to Paris Disneyland. Then a decade later, on to Tokoyo Disneyland where it can remain and where it will get the respect it deserves. After all, the Carousel of Progress has already graced the New Your World's Fair of 1964,65 as well as Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom.
User ID: shortikell Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 3 (1/26/2001)
As long as they keep updating this ride, it's one that people shouldn't miss!
User ID: DisneyPrincess_96 Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (1/26/2001)

User ID: disneycat Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: Unrated (1/26/2001)
This is a piece of Disney History. One of Walt's masterpieces. If they ever get rid of it at WDW please send it back to Disneyland, this would be way better then that lame inovations.
User ID: IanJ Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (1/26/2001)
A Walt Disney Classic not to be missed. Too bad it opens at 11AM and closes at 5PM. Hopefully it won't be closed for good
User ID: WDWEC Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (1/26/2001)
THIS attraction brings old and new technical advances together in one (well many) rooms. It may need a update, but don't make it an electronics 'ma;;' like the one in DL, thats what EPCOT is for, and does it very well. Keep it at WDW, its a piece of history all should be able to ride!
User ID: bairdbeth Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (1/18/2001)
Classic Disney. My 4 year loved singing along. I hope they don't close this one!!
User ID: wurtzy71 Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 3 (1/5/2001)
This is a classic Disney attraction. Plus it comes in handy when you get those classic 30 minute Florida downpours. I like that they keep updating it every few years.
User ID: NikkiLOVESMickey Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (12/20/2000)
THE definitive Walt Disney attraction! What Disney lover can't appreciate this audio-animatronic wonder, one which was so close to the heart of Walt Disney himself!?! This is the attraction taht, in my mind, defines what Disney is all about.
User ID: kirbysloan Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (11/1/2000)
Wonderful! Odd to have the 60-odd year jump from the 40's to the Millenium and also to have the family not age in the first 3 scenes but that SONG is more contagious than Small World. This is a true masterpiece.
User ID: tsaleeby Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (7/10/2000)
This is the BEST attraction there is. It is my family's favorite.

I grew up with the original. All time Disney classic.
User ID: Coop Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (7/8/2000)
One of the truly unique Disney attractions. This is the last show in the US using the rotating theater format, and one of the few animatronic show based attractions left at WDW also. I really hope that they let this attraction stay around. We need these type of charming attractions for those of us that can't do thrill rides.
CRIS

There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow, Shining at the end of every day..... I LOVE THIS ATTRACTION....and feel that it has become one of those quintessential WDW Attractions that I cannot miss when I am there (albeit only once every 4 or 5 years!). I would really be disappointed to see this close, expecially now that Horizons (or what I thought of as the CoP, Part II) is gone. C'mon...not EVERY attraction has to have some thrill or another to make it worth visiting. I really like the latest update to this....can't we leave this one here, just for a little while longer???......
User ID: bwanabob Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (7/8/2000)
I can't believe the LP.com rating is only a 2! This is a WDW classic.
User ID: Phillip Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (7/8/2000)

User ID: clangewisch Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: Unrated (7/8/2000)
My family loves the Carousel of Progress. Maybe because we feel close to Walt there, because of how personally involved he was with this. I hope Disney will not take it out.
User ID: SirLamer Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (6/23/2000)
I never saw the original Carousel of Progress, but my mother told me it was great and was dissapointed when they took it out. Then I got the opportunity to see it in Walt Disney World. It was great. The Carousel of Progress is an exhibit of all the different technologies and fads that were created in the past hundered years. After every section, the seating area moves to the next section. This is not a must-see, but if you have the time, I suggest you see it.
User ID: Futurist Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (6/4/2000)
A Walt Disney hallmark Attraction. The company better not ever get rid of it. I'LL PROTEST IF THEY EVER DO!
User ID: movienut10 Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (5/13/2000)
The Carousel Of Progress will always have a soft spot in my heart. I just wish that they would bring back the "Now is the time" version.

I loved it at Disneyland as a kid, I was so thrilled to see it many years later as an adult
User ID: JungleSkipper Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (5/7/2000)
I grew up in California and Carousel of Progress was one of my FAVORITE attractions - I liked America Sings too but missed the ol' GE show. Last May, I went to Disney World for the first time and was THRILLED to find out that the Carousel was running there. Unfortunately, they closed the attraction early that day so I missed it entirely. And now it's closed forever. WHY do they keep closing these fab old attractions that people CLEARLY love no matter what? It makes me crazy - really messes with my nostalgia, man. Thanks for listenting.

Classic Walt Disney showmanship! Everybody sing: There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow, Shining at the End of Every Day ...
User ID: ChipDale Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (5/7/2000)
I love this attraction, but wish that they would put in better monitors in the preshow area - it's very difficult to see and the sound needs to be improved.
User ID: voxs Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 3 (5/7/2000)
A classic from the Sixties! Glad they snagged Mel Blanc as the parrot and Cousin who created"Air Coolin'"..They need to change the Future segment..Should have a robot-cat after a robot- mouse..kids zapping the Christmas tree to another color..more comedy!! Dad should fly home in a Rocket Rod and we see him park it via T.V. etc. Tom Morrow should be hectic cook in kitchen etc. Plug some of their Tomorrowland stuff
Light fixture looks like Orbitron ! Put a Hidden Mickey in there !! Etc. The stage is set..just add to it for the New Century !

Classic Disney at it's best.I remember it from the'64 WF and it's still as great as it was then
User ID: lislou Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (5/1/2000)
I've lived in So Cal all my life and was so devestaed when they removed "America Sings" from Disneyland. "Carousel" is reminscent of it and is absolutely charming. For you naysayers -- everything can't or shouldn't be "Space Mountain." Future generations should be allowed to enjoy Carousel. Beides, it was Walt's creation (Not Eisner's!) Don't mess with it!!!
User ID: Jeremiah Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 3 (2/5/2000)
Still a great attraction, it might not be a thrill ride but if you go on it expecting a scream you really got lost. It would fit much better in E.P.C.O.T. but it is fun.
User ID: TP2000 Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (1/27/2000)
A wonderful and upbeat family attraction, and the theater spins around! Neat! A great way to decompress after Space Mountain, and the whole family should find something to like about this one. The optimistic tone and snappy theme song will keep you cheery for days.

Sentimental old me again. I'm back to my youth and visiting the NY World's Fair. I memorized the original lyrics and can still 'sing' them (off key and probably out of tune but with enthusiasm)

User ID: TPA_RickWest Thrill: Unrated Theme: Unrated Overall: 4 (1/5/2000)
A wonderful piece of Disney history, the Carousel of Progress was originally designed for a World's Fair in the early 1960s. WDW does a fantastic job at presenting this incredible attraction in its glory. An absolute MUST is seeing the pre-show videos on the monitors outside the theater before going inside. A true gem; at Walt Disney World, there's a great big, beautiful tomorrow!
