Silk Chiffon Gown with Silk Appliques
Dolce & Gabbana
1999 Italy

Dolce & Gabbana has been inspired by this segment to design a couture gown expressing the beauty and grace of the enchanted Sprite as she glides through the forest giving the promise of life to all that she touches.

The one-of-a-kind gown is crafted from layers of hand-dyed chiffon, which was draped without the use of pattern, and then hand-sewn on the mannequin. Hand painted flowers, leaves and butterflies of antique silk embellish the gown. One-of-a-kind shoes and a bolero style wrap complete the ensemble.

Crystal Sculpture
Steuben
1999 USA

This magnificent crystal sculpture, designed by Steuben Creative Director Peter Aldridge, is a multi-dimensional experience representing the timeless themes of good over evil and lightness over darkness as portrayed in the colorful animation of this segment. These themes are symbolized not only by the form and structure of the work but also by the incredible “pyrotechnic” prismatic effects that are a trademark of the amazingly pure and highly refractive Steuben crystal.

The sculpture, weighing nearly 800 pounds, stands 7- 1/2' tall and is composed of 84 separate pieces of hand cut and hand finished crystal.

Pearl and Diamond Necklace with Matching Earrings
Mikimoto
1999 Japan

Brilliantly capturing the wonderment of whales in flight, Mikimoto, known for their creative and innovative designs for pearl jewelry, and their designer, Lili Chu, have created a dazzling pearl necklace and matching earrings. The necklace features a pod of whales approaching an extraordinary supernova that will lead them through the unknown skies on a mystical migration of hope and transcendence. Complementing the necklace is a pair of diamond and pearl dangle drop earrings reinforcing the theme of the whales’ ascent to the supernova.

The necklace is made of more than 77 carats of diamonds with Akoya pearls and a 15.9mm White South Sea Pearl. The earrings are 8.96 carats of diamonds with White South Sea Pearls.

Mohair Plush Sculpture
Steiff
1999 Germany

In creating a Masterwork equal to the fun and fantasy of this extraordinary segment, Margarete Steiff GmbH calls upon more than a century of skill and tradition to create a set of “studio size” plush sculptures of Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, and a menagerie of Noah’s passengers.

The plush sculptures are handcrafted of mohair, velvet and other luxury fabrics and embellished with intricate hand-sewn details. The complete set of Steiff sculptures measures 15’L X 15’W X 10’H. The trademark Steiff “Button in the Ear” completes each piece.

Sterling Silver, 18kt gold and Enamel Sculpture with Cabochon Amethysts
Tiffany & Co
1999 USA

Tiffany & Co have used their talent to design a sterling silver sculpture depicting the fearsome jack-in-the-box springing from this hideaway to behold the soldier falling under his beloved ballerina’s affections. The sterling silver box tells the story of the soldier’s struggle through hand-chased panels on each exposed surface and accents of cabochon amethyst gemstones and 18-kt. Detailing.

The sculpture stands two feet tall and sits on a hardwood maple base with a drawer that opens and closes for storage of the five additional sterling silver tin soldiers.

Rhapsody in Blue
Diamond and Cabochon Ruby Bangle Bracelet
Harry Winston
1999 USA

The unprecedented gem stone and exquisite diamond bangle bracelet design by Harry Winston has captured the feel of the magnificent skyline and the moment when Rachel drops her bright red ball into the middle of the concrete jungle. The designer was inspired by the simple innocence represented by Rachel’s tiny red ball in contrast to the complexity of its static environment.

The pave diamond bracelet includes 48 square diamonds (3.52 carats), 46 baguette diamonds (3.75 carats), 13 trilliant cut diamonds (2.39 carats), and a red cabochon ruby (4.23 carats).
