Disney has given this summer's movie going a real treasure! Pirates is a fun, decent, action-driven film good for the whole family. If you can bring along some enthusiastic friends, your enjoyment of Pirates will surely double as laughs are contagious. Those sly nods to the classic Disney ride abound throughout. I was really impressed by the substitution of action for violence and the lack of gratuitous sex and bloodshed. Kudos to Disney for once again raising the bar on summer entertainment. But wadda expect from a "skeleton" crew of sea rogues! Highly recommend heading to the El Capitan Cinema in Hollywood, CA where stolen treasure, haunted organist and canon fire await you. Rousing good time! Yo ho Went and saw it twice...loved the costumes, just had a problem with the contact lenses used by the pirates...you can totally tell they are wearing them. ARRRRRRRRRR........ "X" marks Really a great movie. Not quite as great as I had wanted it to be, but it was exceptionally cute. My favorite character had to be Jack Sparrow. Johnny Depp did a phenominal job. The in-jokes from the ride made it even more enjoyable. I can't wait to see it again! I absolutely LOVED POTC! It was brilliantly acted and written! I caught more tributes to the ride than my whole family! I was like: did you see the crabs, remember the crabs at the end... and everyone just told me I am too obsessed, but I cant help it! I want to see it again ASAP! OH MY GOD! HOW FABULOUS! This movie is totally GREAT! I loved it, and am going to see it again as soon as I have more time (I just got home from seeing it!). tee hee. Woo! I just saw it and it was awesome! My husband actually saw it twice. I don't want to really spoil it for you, but Johnny Depp makes the movie, and you can't help but love the many tributes to the ride. It is a Disney Live Action adventure in the same spirit as Treasure Island and Swiss Family, with a bit of an edge. A definite see it. Dead men tell no tales.... What an awesome movie!
