Pin Trading - Basics 2
Where Can I Trade?In the beginning of the promotion there were limited locations Guests could trade with each other and with Cast Members. As trading has taken off there are locations at literally every venue and the number of Cast Members wearing lanyards has also increased. In some locations the lanyards may be hung near the registers. The pins on those are still tradable - just ask.
At the Disneyland Resort, the locations are:
- In Disneyland Park there are several designated pin trading locations. On Main Street USA there is a pin cart in Town Square and a larger location with outdoor seating at the Disney Showcase (this is a pin talk and Super Trader location) and a large selection is available in the Main Street Emporium. There is also a pin cart near the entry gate in Frontierland, near the Star Trader in Tomorrowland and at the Fantasy Faire in Fantasyland. You can also find a large selection of pins in the Gag Factory in Mickeys Toontown.
- At Disneys California Adventure there are carts in several locations. In the Hollywood Pictures Backlot is the Pin-Up Pins cart, in the Bay Area is the Laod Bhang pin cart (this is a Super Trader location). A large selection of pin designs can be found in the entry plaza at Greetings From California, in Paradise Pier at Treasures in Paradise and at Sideshow Shirts.
- In Downtown Disney you will find a large selection of pins in the World of Disney and at the Downtown Disney pin cart on the pedestrian bridge, at the Grand Californian Hotel in Acorns, at the Disneyland Hotel near Tinker Bells Treasures and at the Paradise Pier Hotel in the lobby near Mickey in Paradise.
Epcot's Millenniun Pin Central
At Walt Disney World the larger locations are:
- Magic Kingdom - Main Street Town Square and Exposition Hall (this is a pin talk location).
- Epcot - in Future World, Pin Central - the largest pin location on property - near Spaceship Earth (this is a Super Trader location) and near Canada in World Showcase.
- The Disney-MGM Studios - Pin Station at Hollywood Junction.
- Disneys Animal Kingdom - has a large pin cart near Island Mercantile in Discovery Island.
- Disneys Wide World of Sports - near the Baseball Stadium.
- Every resort hotel has a pin rounder in their gift shops at the very least, and most - if not all - also have pin carts offering a larger selection of pin designs.
- Downtown Disney Marketplace, the World of Disney, Pleasure Island and Downtown Disney West Side all have pin carts. There are also attraction specific pins available in the gift shops of Disney Quest, the House of Blues, Planet Hollywood and Cirque du Soleil.
Pin Location at the All Star Music resort
Pin Trading came to Tokyo Disneyland recently but has taken off in a big way. The park has two primary pin stations - at Cosmic Encounter in Tomorrowland and at Fantasy Gifts in Fantasyland which sell large selections of pins and their versions of lanyards at ¥1000. You can also find pins available in the Emporium in the World Bazaar, at the Trading Post in western Land and in the Toontown Five & Dime in Toontown. There are also Cast Members wearing lanyards in the park and at the resorts. A large number of pins - both open stock and limited edition - being produced for the park. TDL pins sell at the park for between ¥600 and ¥2400 (about$4.75 to $18.00) depending on the ¥ to $ exchange rate. TDL pins feature characters, attractions, lands, parades (especially the new Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade DreamLights), animated features and shows.

The TDL pin of the month series features a monthly calendar featuring a different character. The Tokyo Disney Stores also produce pins for sale and trade, some in very limited editions which make them highly sought after additions for collectors. With the opening of Tokyo Disney Sea the number of pins available is likely to rise.
Pin trading on the high seas is now in full sail on both the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder. Both ships feature a large selection of pins - some specific to the ship - and have Cast Members trading. There are special pins available only for trade and pins given as prizes for contests. There are cruise exclusive pins available at Castaway Cay.
