WDW Millennium Celebration - Imagination Pavilion

Nigel Channing and Figment

Imagination Pavilion
Since its opening in 1983 the Journey Into Imagination ride has been a favorite of many Epcot guests, especially the lovable character it introduced, Figment along with the Dream Finder. On October 1, 1999 Epcot officially opened the new version of the attraction,   Journey Into Your Imagination. In the new version Figment plays only a minor role and the Dream Finder is gone.

Nigel Channing (the "host" of Honey, I Shrunk the Audience) takes guests backstage at the Imagination Institute and gives guests the opportunity to expand their imaginations via trips to an upside room, a room viewed through a magnifying glass and a spectacular sound and color room, among others. Journey Into Your Imagination was dedicated on September 29, 1999 in a very unusual ceremony that showcased diversity and technology - all in the spirit of the Millennium Celebration.

Also changed is the Imageworks post-show area where guests can use their imagination to experiment with sights and sounds. Among other things, guests can take a picture of themselves, manipulate it on screen and email it to friends anywhere in the world, all from Imageworks at the Imagination Pavilion.
