Christmas at Disneyland - New Year's Eve
Christmas at Disneyland
The Merriest Place on Earth
New Year's Eve
Come Early!
New Year's Eve at Disneyland is usually the most crowded day of the year. This year, with
a new millennium ringing in, should be no exception. In fact, many are predicting this
year will be much more crowded than normal. In anticipation of this Disney released the
following tip in their Fall/Winter 1999 Annual Passport Newsletter:
A large number of visitors are expected to welcome in the year 2000 at The Happiest Place on Earth. It is possible that we could reach Park capacity. As is always the case, our first responsibility is for the safety and comfort of Guests already inside the park. While we hope everyone who intends to join us on this unique occasion can do so, it is important for ALL our Guests, including Annual Passholders, to understand that Disneyland's Park and its parking lot areas may reach capacity early and be subject to closure to additional Guests at any time without advance notice. If you are planning to make Disneyland Park part of your New Year's Eve celebration, we encourage you to keep this in mind and plan accordingly.
No one, not even Annual Passholders, is guaranteed admission into the park. If you do enter the park and later leave you aren't guaranteed readmission, so plan your day accordingly.
Entertainment
If you've never been to Disneyland on New Year's Eve, prepare yourself. Special
entertainment is on-hand, special music plays on Main Street, hats and noise-makers are
everywhere and it's generally one big party: Following are some of the planned festivities
for New Year's Eve:
- Three Fantasmic! shows, the last one at 12:15 a.m.
- Two Christmas Fantasy Parades, 1:30 and 6:00 p.m.
- A DJ in either the Omnibus or Goofy's Bus on Small World Mall
- Clocks at both Sleeping Beauty Castle and at Small World Mall
- A sock-hop at Carnation Plaza Gardens
- A dance club at Fantasyland Theatre
- Luna will perform at the Tomorrowland Terrace stage
- Entertainment (as yet unannounced) in front of the castle.
- Special music on Main Street as in years past
- Hats and Horns passed out as in years past
- Special Fireworks Show at Midnight.
Note: Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve, which was at the Castle last year, will not be there this year.
