President of Worldwide Operations for Walt Disney Parks of Resorts Al Weiss expresses his enthusiasm for the opportunity to celebrate the First Day of Issue The Art of Disney Romance as the Festival begins. He reminds the gathered audience that Disney's relationship with the postal service began in the Summer of 1918 when Walt Disney worked in the Chicago post office sorting and delivering mail. In 1923 Disney created "Mail Pilot" an animated short featuring Mickey Mouse.

Jo Ann Feindt, Vice President, Great Lakes Area Operations, US Postal Service during the stamp dedication announced the Art of Disney Romance will not be the last set in the Art of Disney Series. Next year, they will release the Art of Disney: Magic. She also shares the Disney story behind each stamp in the Romance series.
