La Hacienda y La Cantina de San Angel opened on the eve of Mexico's bi-centennial celebration - September 16, 2010. Speakers at the event included the President of San Angel, LLC, Ricky Debler, who opened the first San Angel in Mexico and also operates San Angel Inn inside the Mexico Pavilion pyramid. Also speaking was Alberto Fierro Garza, Mexican Consul in Orlando. In addition to the media, the event was attended by invited guests of San Angel. Throughout the event samplers of the appetizers and entrees were passed out as well as samples of their various margaritas.
The new location is open for lunch and dinner. Lunch is counter service only at La Cantina but guests can sit outside or inside. Dinner is table service at La Hacienda with indoor seating while La Cantina continues counter service. Dinner service begins at 4p every night and goes until 9p (or 10p during Extra Magic Hours nights). The opening time for lunch has not been determined yet. Reservations are currently being accepted for dining beginning October 15th.
Entrees run about $25 on the dinner menu and $11 on the counter service menu. They do accept the Disney Dining Plan. The restaurant also provides a great view of Illuminations both inside and outside. Inside the lights are dimmed and the music is piped in.
