The last of Disney California Adventure’s original entrance complex disappeared behind construction fences on Monday, August 28. The final push is now on to convert the area into Buena Vista Street before its announced opening by the summer of 2012.
Guests are now directed to the west, through a highly themed walkway that takes them behind the show building for Soarin’ Over California. The new entrance brings guests directly into the Condor Flats area, near the entrance to the Redwood Creek area. After 5pm, a large gate is made available to exit guests directly into Downtown Disney, between La Brea Bakery and the entrance of the World of Disney store.
Halfway down the new entry Guest Relations has been relocated in a temporary trailer. There are also a number of benches, planters, and vending carts located along the path.
Inside Disney California Adventure construction fences have been rearranged to allow better access through the center of the park. Guests may now go around the Carthay Circle fountain, and walk directly beneath the tower of the Carthay Circle Theater. More newly laid Red Car tracks are also visible.
