The much anticipated opening of Downtown Disney Anaheim’s Earl of Sandwich shop took place on Friday, November 2. Robert Earl, chairman of the restaurant chain, was joined by Downtown Disney General Manager Janet Knox, six-time All Star Anaheim Angel player Bobby Grich and Extra host Mario Lopez for an official ribbon cutting ceremony. Of course, it wouldn’t be a true occasion at the Disneyland Resort without the presence of Mickey Mouse.

After cutting the ribbon, Mario Lopez sampled the first sandwich, and members of Anaheim’s Boys and Girls Club were invited to sample the Earl of Sandwich’s fare at a reception. Public hours commenced shortly after; by the end of the evening lines wrapped around the building.

The restaurant chain was developed in a partnership with Robert Earl and John Montagu, the 11th Earl of Sandwich. In 1762 the fourth Earl of Sandwich created the menu item which bears his name to this day. The Earl of Sandwich restaurant serves hot sandwiches, freshly made to order on premises. In addition, breakfast items, salads, soups and desserts are offered. An array of beverage choices includes the Earl’s Lemonade. recommends Howard Johnson by Disneyland  Park- the Recommended Disneyland area hotel of recommends - the Official Travel Agency of - for all your Disney travel needs.
