The Disneyland Resort has launched its “Limited Time Magic” promotion with the celebration of Three Kings Day January 4-6, followed by the Salute to the Golden Horseshoe starting January 10. “Limited Time Magic” will feature a variety of surprise events at Disney Theme Parks. Some will last as long as a week or more, and some will disappear after just one day. Information will be available Fridays on the Disney Parks blog, on Twitter (hashtag #LimitedTimeMagic), and at the dedicated LimitedTimeMagic.com web page.

Disneyland is celebrating Three Kings Day for a second year. Last year’s first-ever Día de los Reyes Magos celebration featured special décor, entertainment, food and activities showcasing Western and Mexican heritage. This year, the same celebration has moved from Zocalo Park in the center of Frontierland to a bigger space, Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree in Frontierland. The celebration will run January 4-6 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Dia de los Reyes Magos is celebrated in many Latin American countries, as part of the Christmas story. It commemorates the day the three kings, also known as magi or “wise men” followed the star to Bethlehem and presented gifts to the Christ Child. Among the special foods being offered at Disneyland’s Three Kings Day are Rosco de Reyes (Kings bread), tamales, bunuelos, chimichangas, and hot chocolate.

Mickey and Minnie Mouse will be on hand in special fiesta costumes. Joining them will be the stars of The Three Caballeros: Donald Duck, Jose Carioca, and Panchito.

Three Kings Day entertainment will include folklorico dancing and Mariachi musical performers, Disney characters in festive, colorful costumes and holiday photo opportunities. Younger guests can participate in crafts like face painting, crown making and coloring. The Grammy winning Mariachi Divas will perform on the Jamboree stage, along with the following groups:

  • 10 a.m. – Baile Folklorico Teyacapan (Ballet Folklorico)

Following Three Kings Day, Disneyland will present a limited run production at the Golden Horseshoe. Inspired by the world-famous Frontierland show enjoyed by Walt Disney himself, “A Salute to the Golden Horseshoe Revue” will be an homage to the fun-filled, family-friendly musical variety shows of the past. Hosted by Miss Lily and her Saloon Girls, the show will bring together favorite song and dance numbers like “Hello, Everybody,” “A Good Man Is Hard to Find,” “Belly up to the Bar” and “Can-Can.”

“Of course, it would be impossible to completely recreate that original show without the talents of Disney Legends such as Betty Taylor and Wally Boag,” said Senior Show Director Randy Wojcik, “But ‘A Salute to the Golden Horseshoe Revue’ promises to honor that classic production and celebrate a truly historic venue in grand style.”

The salute will play for a limited time only, every Thursday through Monday, from January 10 to February 4. To reserve a seat, guests should visit the podium at the entrance to the Golden Horseshoe on the date of their selected performance. A cast member will issue a ticket for the preferred show time, based on availability, which the guest will use for admission to the show. This is similar to the process that was used during the original run of the “Golden Horseshoe Revue.”

A special opportunity for Disneyland Annual Passholders has also been announced at www.disneyland.com/apmagic. Bookings have already begun for a special dinner package. Priced at $35, the dinner performances include special menu items and commemorative gifts.
