LP Lotion: Fantasy Faire Opening Day at Disneyland
Page 1 of 7
Disney’s popular princesses have a new home at Disneyland. Fantasy Faire officially opened to the public on Tuesday, March 12. It was another beautiful California day with manageable crowds that failed to overwhelm the modestly scaled area. The queue line for the Royal Hall meet and greet averaged between 30 and 60 minutes through the day. Each performance at the Royal Theatre saw a full house, with crowds standing along the outside to watch alternating performances of Beauty and the Beast and Tangled.
Throughout the day little princesses and their parents could be seen enjoying Fantasy Faire’s varied offerings. The gift shop, Fairytale Treasures had a couple of low-key games. Clopin’s Music Box was a source of fascination. And many guests enjoyed watching for Figaro the cat to “wake” from his nap on a high windowsill. From time to time, princesses from the nearby Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique could be seen making their way through Fantasy Faire, on their way to a photo session with the princesses in Royal Hall. The “backdoor” privilege was offered with the Castle Package at $190.
By early evening, Fantasy Faire’s venues began to quietly close. As darkness fell, lamps were lit and there was a soft glow from the second floor windows. Lending a magical touch was a special effect from Rapunzel’s Tower at the center of the Faire. At the sound of chimes, the stone tower’s sculpted hair would glow with sparkling lights. Crowds also gathered in front of the Royal Theatre to enjoy Disneyland’s nightly fireworks.
