Disney World is such a large and varied place, that you never know what kinds of activities are going to be available to you on any given day. One of the most forgotten destinations for many Disney visitors (including myself) is ESPN’s Wide World of Sports venue. Other than registering for a runDisney race, I rarely make it over there. But when I heard my favorite morning show, Mike and Mike (simulcast on ESPN Radio and ESPN 2), was going to broadcast from there this morning and co-host Mike Greenberg (AKA Greeny) would be “paying up” on his NCAA Basketball Tournament Bracket Wager, I knew it was time to go back. Each year the two hosts - Greenberg and Mike Golic - wager on the college basketball tournament with the loser having to face some indignity in front of viewers. This year, loser and germaphobe Greeny had to complete “Mike & Mike The Mess” - an obstacle course through mud and other sticky and icky stuffs. There were four sections to the course, and he had to find a letter in each section and run it back to the finish line to ultimately spell out “Mike”.

The morning show was broadcast from one of the fields from 6a to 10a with The Mess taking place, on live TV, at 8:30a. Mike and Mike used to regularly come down and broadcast during ESPN the Weekend and I’d always make sure to go watch. But with the ESPN the Weekend no longer happening, I was more than thrilled to have one more opportunity to watch one of my favorite shows live. Because at Disney World, you just never know.

Arriving bright and early. We got there about 4:30a - perhaps a little overkill. We were 5th in line.
