Here’s a newly finished stone wall at Prince Eric’s Village. I’m guessing the fancy door on the left is fake, but certainly the plain one on the right is real. It has a lock. But check out the hinges on that left door. Tridents?

As I mentioned, I have a thing for light fixtures. To me the best ones are a perfect combination of form and function. Disney has put a lot of effort into the lights in New Fantasyland, so I shot a few images of them. Here’s a couple that anchor a door alongside the back walkway, as it transitions from a French theme to a Nordic one. This stone wall has recently been revealed, but, as you can see, still has a screen behind it.

The Nordic lamp appears throughout the Little Mermaid area, but each one seems to have at least a slightly different finish. This one has faux oil stains on its glass; so does the rock wall under it. That’s the Beast’s castle in the background.

Here’s another newly revealed Nordic lamp, this one with heavy oil stains and more obvious corrosion. That’s Cinderella Castle in the distance.

Yet another version of that lamp, this one hanging freely from a rope. One thing I like about shooting things close like this is that doing so often reveals details that otherwise can go unnoticed. See the safety wire? The electrical cord? The bruises at the top of the pole? By the way, who ties rope like this? I think I tried to once… back in Sea Scouts.

Here’s another new lamp, a Renaissance-style one on the coaster side of the bridge in the Enchanted Forest area. It matches the lamps on the other side. Again, what great detail… and apparently, first-class quality. If you look close, you can see its safety wires.
