Video and pictures of Characters in Flight at Downtown Disney doing its first test flights. Characters in Flight is currently under construction at Walt Disney World's Downtown Disney. The new attraction should be operating in early April. According to the signage around the ride and speaking with employees there, the price will be $16 for adults and $10 for children. The balloon will go to a maximum height of 400 feet with a maximum of 30 passengers with both maximums determined by wind speed. It will not operate in winds above 22mph and it's a 10 minute ride - 2 1/2 up, 5 in the air, 2 1/2 down.

The tether looks thin, but holds a lot of weight - there is a contingency in case of any issues (the balloon could be flown and landed free-standing)
