Plot Summary
The Pevensie siblings return to the world of Narnia a year after their
incredible experiences chronicled in "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe".
However in Narnia more than 1300 years have past and during their absence Narnia
has been conquered by the Telmarines and is now under the control of the evil
King Miraz. The Pevensies soon meet Narnia's rightful heir to the throne, the
young Prince Caspian who has been forced into hiding as his uncle Miraz plots to
kill him in order to place his own newborn son on the throne.
Images and Trailers
- Michael Rechtshaffen, positive review, (The Hollywood Reporter)
"A bit of the magic is gone, but the enchantment lives on." - A O Scott, positive review, (New York Times)
"...basically a war movie, with elaborate battle sequences in a castle courtyard and on a grassy plain, accompanied by thundering hoofbeats, whizzing arrows, clanking swords and Harry Gregson-Williams’s rousing score." - Amy Biancolli, mixed review, (Houston Chronicle)
"There are indeed battles and bloodshed and chivalry in Lewis's imagining, but they're less important than the archetypal moral struggles that underpin them all ... By the end I had overdosed on surly Peter, pouty Caspian and over-digitized shock-and-awe." - Associated Press, positive review, (Associated Press)
"It's simultaneously darker and funnier, more substantive and more engaging, more violent and more technically accomplished. " - Claudia Puig, positive review, (USA Today)
"Fans of the first Narnia surely will enjoy this sequel, which is better made and more of an epic than 2005's first installment of Chronicles of Narnia, based on the popular series by C.S. Lewis." - Kenneth Turan, positive review, (Los Angeles Times)
""Prince Caspian" is finally a more polished effort than "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" .." - Michael Phillips, mixed review, (Chicago Tribune)
"Adamson hasn't yet figured out how to stage simple action sequences so that they build; over and over, he falls back on indistinct medium shots and choppy, effects-dependent editing rhythms. Some of the effects are nice.."
