Halloween Festival at Disneyland Paris
Halloween Festival at Disneyland Paris October 2 - November 7, 1999
From 2 October to 7 November 1999 Disneyland Paris will be
in tune with the ghosts of times gone by, as Halloween is celebrated for the third
consecutive year. For the first time though, there will be five weeks of fright and good
old macabre sense of humour will be on the program to allow the young and the young at
heart to discover the fun and educational aspects of this holiday.
Every day, goblins, witches, monsters and scarecrows will gather in Frontierland, which
will be completely transformed into Halloweenland, from 11:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to give
our guests a totally wild day.
Bewitching creative activities.
Every morning the festival will begin at 11:30 a.m. with the Halloween happening. On Main
Street, U.S.A. all the Disney Villains including Maleficient, Jafar, Frollo, Cruella
Devil, Captain Hook... will lead our young guests - and the young at heart - in a strange
dance all the way to Frontierland, to the rhythm of music, especially composed for
the occasion.
Spooky Halloween creative workshops will be organised for
children in Frontierland: they can be made-up to look like Merlin and Maleficient, or can
disguise themselves by creating their own costumes with multicoloured materials, or even
make their masks in the spirit of Halloween.
Throughout the day, the pumpkin-man, a talented sculptor, will cut out pumpkins of all
shapes and sizes and convert them into extraordinary orange figures, as well as sharing
his know-how with the guests.
Scarecrow hairdressers at the brand-new Halloween Tiff hair
salon will style strange haircuts, hair makeup with streaks or hair styling, for all
guests who want to change their look.
The undertaker and the scarecrow will organise scary face making contests or the most
horrific scream at various times a day. An undertaker will bring together the most
adventurous children for the traditional Trick or Treat party. The little ones, costumed
and made up, will go on the search for candies in Frontierland, ready to punish those who
do not give them anything with a mean trick.
Frontierland transformed into Halloweenland.
As you enter, you can feel the mood. Under Fort Comstock porch, tied up in a network of
spider webs, is a sinister-looking undertaker welcoming the guests to a creepy, shuddering
day.
Bails of hay, cobs of corn, pumpkins and scarecrows cover
the ground. A field of pumpkins in front of Critter Coral presents a strange-looking
garden. The greatest Disney Villains are the bewitching hosts of the premises and have
dozens of surprises in store for our Guests. A gang of spooky ghosts on stilts stroll
about and confront the braver amongst our guests.
A bit further on Phantom Manor stands, dark and disquieting, surrounded by awesome looking
trees, strange scarecrows and hoards of pumpkins. Mysterious sounds filter through the
doors and dilapidated shutters. A sinister-looking host invites the braver guests to visit
the ghostly residence.
The Lucky Nugget Saloon hosts the The Glamour Witch Show, in which a strange creature,
surrounded by musicians, sings a repertoire of satanic rhythms.
A musical group entertains onlookers near the Cowboy Cookout, whilst inside a scarecrow
country band liven up the atmosphere.
