Disney Cruise Line Unveils Online Booking Of Air-Inclusive Vacation Packages At Disneycruise.com

Internet users can now book air-inclusive Disney Cruise Line vacation packages, including a new seven- night eastern Caribbean cruise, online at the official Disney Cruise Line Web site, www.disneycruise.com. Disney Cruise Line is the first Disney destination site to offer online booking of air-inclusive vacation packages.

In addition to a variety of information and vacation planning tools, disneycruise.com now provides users access to real-time availability, pricing and instant customized confirmations. "Many of our guests have told us that they visited our Web site to plan their vacation," said Matt Ouimet, Disney Cruise Line president. "Guests who prefer to book their vacation on the Internet now have this easy-to-use option at their fingertips." "Disney Cruise Line is the first Disney Destination site to offer air- inclusive vacation packages online, and we're ecstatic that we are providing this option for our guests," said Mark Koehler, vice president, Internet travel, for GO.com. "We look forward to the success we have experienced with our other Disney destination travel sites. Guests have demonstrated through their usage that the Internet is a valuable resource and tool that makes vacation planning easy."

To book a Disney Cruise Line vacation online, users follow a simple step- by-step process, indicating preferred type of cruise or land/sea vacation, anticipated sailing dates and number of guests. After being presented with a choice of available vacations, users review price quotes for available Category 4-12 staterooms and Walt Disney World Resort hotel if booking a land/sea vacation. Confirmations are provided online within seconds, followed by confirmation by mail, and reservations are made immediately in the Disney reservation system.

Air transportation can also be included in Internet bookings. A log of what the user has chosen is tabulated and displayed throughout the booking process. Special offers are planned for future versions of the application. Packages are based on current early booking savings. Enhancements will be made based on user feedback.

To assist in planning a Disney Cruise Line vacation, users are offered an easy-to-use pop-up window that assists with information regarding such details as itineraries, deck plans, stateroom categories, ports of call and terms and conditions.

State-of-the-art Internet security is built into the booking engine, which keeps credit card numbers and other personal information fully encrypted and confidential. For bookings made over the Internet outside 30 days of travel, a $200 per person deposit is due at time of booking. For bookings made inside 30 days of travel, full payment is required. American Express, Disney Credit Card, MasterCard and Visa cards are accepted for online bookings.

The Internet application includes a call-to-action that tells users to contact Disney Cruise Line or a travel agent for further assistance. Online booking became available to travel agents using Disney's travel agent Web site earlier this spring.

Disney Cruise Line now offers a variety of magical cruise vacations. Beginning Aug. 12, 2000, the Disney Magic will sail a new seven-night cruise vacation to the exotic eastern Caribbean ports of St. Maarten and St. Thomas, with excursions to St. John, as well as a day-long visit to Castaway Cay, Disney's private Bahamian island. Unique land/sea packages that combine the excitement of the Walt Disney World Resort with the enchantment of a magical Disney Cruise Line voyage to The Bahamas will continue to be offered on the Disney Wonder.

Disney Cruise Line currently offers four departures weekly (Disney Magic departs Mondays and Fridays; Disney Wonder departs Thursdays and Sundays) from its year-round home port at Port Canaveral, Fla. Beginning in August 2000, the Disney Magic will depart and return to its dedicated Port Canaveral cruise terminal each Saturday.
