The El Capitan Theatre Becomes the First
Movie Theater to Offer Moviegoers The Opportunity to Purchase and Print Tickets Online;
'Disney's the Kid' Inaugurates New Service
Waiting in line at the theater gives way to purchasing and
printing movie tickets online as The El Capitan Theatre, Hollywood's legendary movie
palace, becomes the first movie theater to offer this new online ticket service, it was
announced today (6/27) by Lylle Breier, senior vice president, special events for The Walt
Disney Studios. Effective immediately, moviegoers can buy admission for the El Capitan's
special engagement of "Disney's The Kid," starring Bruce Willis, by visiting www.elcapitantickets.com
Commenting on the announcement, Breier said, "The future of ticket buying has arrived at the El Capitan Theatre with this exciting, convenient and secure new online service. We feel that moviegoers are going to love the convenience of buying tickets on the internet and then printing them at home. The El Capitan Theatre continues to be the most exciting place to see Disney films and this new service makes purchasing tickets for the theatre's event programming easier than ever."
"Disney's The Kid" is a delightful new comedy from director Jon Turteltaub ("While You Were Sleeping" "Phenomenon'') and writer Audrey Wells ("The Truth About Cats and Dogs"). Bruce Willis stars as Russ Duritz, a high-powered, successful "image consultant" whose life is suddenly turned upside down when he magically meets Rusty -- himself as an 8-year old child. Rusty is a sweet but slightly geeky, pudgy little kid who is not at all happy with how he turns out -- as a 40-year-old "loser" without a wife or even a dog. Through the kid, Russ learns about himself and remembers his childhood dreams, helping him to become the grown-up they both want to be.
Tickets for the special engagement of "Disney's The Kid" are also available at The El Capitan Theatre box office and by calling 1-800-DISNEY-6. The film begins its run on July 7th.
