THIS SUMMER DISNEYLAND PARIS WILL TAKE GUESTS TO THE HEART OF THE ADVENTURE…DAY AND NIGHT

The summer season is a yearly occasion for everyone to take advantage of the special seasonal events during the day as well as at night. And this year, thanks to an innovating system, there is an added advantage to reduce queue lines: FASTPASS(SM).

Summer Nights, nights of magic at Disneyland Paris

From July 8 to September 3, the doors of the Theme Park will remain open until 11:00 p.m. As the sun sets over Sleeping Beauty Castle at night, the transformation takes place. One million twinkling and multicolored lights bring the famous Main Street Electrical Parade to life. At the same time, the sky over Disneyland Paris shines through amazing pyrotechnic show, Tinker Bell's Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks. And for the evening entertainment, Disneyland Paris offers the "Star Nights" passport. It gives access to the park from 5:00 p.m. until closing for the special price of FF 110 (valid for one adult or one child).

Less waiting and more enjoyment thanks to FASTPASS

Operating on three major attractions in the Park, Indiana Jones(TM) and the Temple of Peril… backwards!, Space Mountain and Peter Pan's Flight, the new FASTPASS system allows guests to reduce queuing time by reserving their ride time on the attractions. This innovating system is free and accessible to all. After picking up their FASTPASS ticket at any one of the three attractions, guests are invited to show up in a given time span. This gives the guest more time to enjoy shows and other attractions.

Increasing thrills at the Temple of Peril…

A new, particularly exhilarating adventure at Disneyland Paris is the newly opened Indiana Jones™ and the Temple of Peril…backwards. From now on, the mine carts that run through the Lost City are launched backwards over a wild 600-meter long route, including a spiralling inverted 360° loop in the heart of this perilous chase that will soon become an adventure you'll never forget.

The Tarzan Encounter: in the heart of the jungle at Disneyland Paris

The 37th Disney animated feature has inspired a new 25 minute show, a wild combination of daring acrobatics and music. During the five daily shows, Chaparral Theater becomes a true animated jungle, in which Tarzan and Jane carry out their aerial performance while the gorillas perform acrobatics and stunts to the rhythm of the movie's music.

The Summer of parades and music at Disneyland Paris

The Disney characters will be increasingly present in the Theme Park. As of noon, Mickey's Musical Fantasy gives guests the opportunity to meet a first procession of characters, moving to the music of the parade. This is a first taste of what our guests may experience at 3:00 p.m., when the ImagiNations parade appears for the first time. Mickey Mouse and his friends, on return from a tour of the world, present thousands of souvenirs on huge 12-meter tall floats. The ImagiNations parade then comes back at 6:30 p.m. for to delight all our guests. Throughout the day, as part of the Music, Magic and Fantasy program, eight groups of musicians located in different parts of the park, will allow everyone to meet up with the characters to the sound of music, in the heart of their own universe.

A dream and an adventure to live and share

Disneyland Paris is the main partner of The Race / La Course du Millénaire. It is a team race around the world, without assistance, without limits and without stops, to depart on the 31st of December from Barcelona. To share the dream and the adventure of this incredible challenge with the greatest number of persons and in particular with young adults, a complete entertainment program has been developed. Sailing lessons are offered in the morning and a flotilla of eight optimists and two light dinghies are available for rental on Lake Disney in the afternoon.

A Messages around the World operation has been launched. It will allow children to express their dream for the world of tomorrow, aimed at the future generations. Their messages will be thrown to the sea by the skippers of The Race, a universal, symbolic, communication gesture.

THE STARS SHINE IN THE SKY OVER DISNEYLAND PARIS

In the summertime at Disneyland Paris, when days get longer, the party gets stronger. Night falls over Disneyland Park, soon to be lit by twinkling lights. Guests may now take advantage until 11:00 p.m. of this new opportunity that appears by using their "Star Nights" passport.

A new passport for the Disneyland Paris galaxy

From July  8 to September 3, the Disneyland Park is open from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. The "Star Nights" passport gives access to the park as of 5:00 p.m. for the amount of FF 110 (one sole price, valid for one adult or one child). At nightfall, the park takes on another aspect, both as welcoming and warm. Everyone may then calmly enjoy the attractions, yet more surprising after the sunset, as well as the shows, the musicians and savor a dinner out on an open terrace. The "Star Nights" passport thus opens the doors of the evening universe at Disneyland Paris.

The Main Street Electrical Parade

At 10:30 p.m. night suddenly falls on the park which plunges into darkness. Mysterious floats covered by shining stardust sway along Main Street, U.S.A. Made up of thousands of coloured lights, the parade is led by the Blue Fairy on a unique and poetic route. Snow-White, Cinderella and Alice are the queens of this Electrical Parade for a light-filled close to the evening.

Tinkerbell's Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks set the sky ablaze over Disneyland Paris

After the glimmering Main Street Electric Parade, Tinker Bell makes a musical appearance around the Sleeping Beauty Castle. She then heads towards Adventureland and Fantasyland in a ballet of lights.

After appearing in the air, Tinker Bell heads towards the castle where she lights the fireworks that put the sky ablaze. Tinker Bell's Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks is the final touch to a summer day in Disneyland Paris.

THE SUMMER OF PARADES AND MUSIC

The Disney characters are always noticed when they appear in the Disneyland Park. They come to life in this magical place where they move about in their own universe. This summer, they will meet guests more often than usual. Groups of dynamic musicians will accompany them.

Parades that go beyond our imagination

Disney's ImagiNations parade represents a millennium in which imagination and fun will be kings. Mickey Mouse and his friends have just returned from a long trip around the world with thousands of souvenirs. They have decided to present them to the guests on huge, 12-meter tall floats from their voyage around the continents of the world.

All Summer long, this impressive parade led by Mickey on board his "spaceship" will appear in the Park twice a day, first towards 3:00 p.m. and then around 6:30 p.m. Minnie, Chip & Dale, Donald, Goofy and Pluto carry the guests to all the corners of the world.

Mickey's Toon Time opens the festivities

Earlier in the day, at around 12:00 p.m. the characters make a musical entrance to meet the guests.

At Disneyland Paris, music rhymes with magic

This Summer, the musicians at Disneyland Paris wish to surprise the guests. They will accompany the characters during their appearances in the Disneyland Park. At regular intervals throughout the day, various musical groups will offer live entertainment in the park.

They participate in placing the characters and recreate the atmosphere of the great Disney classics, in which music plays a major role. This will be a new opportunity for the guests to meet with the characters wrapped up in a whirlwind of music and to relive these unforgettable moments.

MORE ADVENTURES, EMOTIONS AND LESS WAITING…

Disneyland Park offers its guests a Summer season overflowing with adventures and gives them the opportunity to make the most of their stay by reducing the waiting time through the new FASTPASS(SM) system.

An increasingly head turning journey: Indiana JonesTM and the Temple of Peril… backwards

Infuriated by the guests racing through the Lost City in small mine cars, the gods have decided to punish them. From now on, the more daring travellers will be launched backwards over a 600 meter-long, winding rain track. Their courage and willpower are severely tested as they can no longer foresee the curves, turns nor the terrifying, 360° loop. A truly unique and unexpected adventure will offer guests the ultimate thrill.

The Tarzan Encounter : the jungle comes alive at Disneyland Paris

Dense and luxurious vegetation has taken over Chaparral Theater! Five times a day, this friendly jungle becomes the stage for the new original show called The Tarzan Encounter. The 37th Disney animation feature has inspired a series of scenes which are poetic, realistic and acrobatic.

A troupe made up of actors, acrobats and stuntmen thus recreates the atmosphere and the main themes of the movie. Stylized gorillas do a series of acrobatics and stunts while Tarzan and Jane offer an incredible aerial ballet to the guests. Thanks to the rhythm of the show, the guests are plunged in Tarzan's universe and relive the emotions of their childhood.

FASTPASS wins the fight against time

The FASTPASS system allows guests to reduce waiting time at the attractions by reserving one's ride. FASTPASS functions on three major attractions in the Park: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril…backwards, Space Mountain, De la Terre à la Lune and Peter Pan's Flight. After picking up their FASTPASS tickets from any one of the three attractions, guests are invited to return in the time span they are given. Guests can then fully enjoy their stay in the Disneyland Park while benefiting from a reserved queue to the attraction of their choice at a given moment in the day. FASTPASS is completely free, open to all and easy to use. It represents an increased satisfaction guarantee for thousands of guests.

DISNEYLAND PARIS, MAIN PARTNER OF THE RACE: A DREAM AND AN ADVENTURE TO LIVE AND SHARE

The departure of The Race / la course du Millénaire will be given on 31 December 2000 in Barcelona. The countdown has begun for this team sail race around the world, without limits, without help and without stops. The Summer season offers the perfect framework to set up the programs linked to The Race.

The ship boys out to conquer Lake Disney

Throughout the Summer, Disneyland Paris offers sailing activities as well as maritime discoveries on Lake Disney. To help children become familiar with these activities, a flotilla of eight optimists and two light dinghies is available to the public. In the morning, classes are offered at 150 FF. Then, from 12:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. the boats are available for rental (50 FF per hour). A giant 12-meter tall globe symbolizing the Earth has been set up in the centre of the lake. They can also send it on a piece of paper to « Partenariat Disneyland Paris / The Race »**.

The best messages will be selected and cast to the sea by the skippers taking part in the race around the world. Five winners will be invited for one day to Barcelona in December 2000 for the departure festivities of The Race. The next one hundred winners will receive four passports each for the Disneyland Park.
