Peter Pan at the El Capitan Theater begins March 3rd

Disney's 'Wahoo Wagon' Brings Live Performance, Puppets And 'Peter Pan' to Saturday Mornings in March at the El Capitan Theatre

Hollywood's legendary El Capitan Theatre continues its wonderfully entertaining Saturday morning family entertainment program called Disney's "Wahoo Wagon" by pairing it with the Walt Disney animated classic "Peter Pan" beginning March 3rd, it was announced today (2/23) by Lylle Breier, senior vice president of worldwide special events for Buena Vista Pictures Distribution. Disney's "Wahoo Wagon," which rolls in to the El Capitan every Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m., offers family audiences live performances by singer/storyteller/dancer Leslie Carrara and her wacky ensemble of all new puppet characters. After each performance in March, audiences will be able to see "Peter Pan," marking the first time this film has been seen on the big screen in 12 years.

Commenting on the announcement, Breier said, "The Wahoo Wagon was phenomenally successful in its first month -- families are really enjoying this show. Leslie has a special gift for involving and exciting the audience, and the result is pure magic. Many people come to the El Capitan for entertainment that they can't find anywhere else, and we're always looking for new ways to supplement our regular engagements. 'Peter Pan' is a classic film and this is a great opportunity to experience it on the big screen."

Disney's "Wahoo Wagon" is an original live stage show that features music, dance, storytelling, and audience participation. Host/star Leslie Carrara plays multiple characters and is joined by two squirrels (Fuzz and Wuzz), three singing and dancing wolves (Flip, Flop, and Fly), and many other fun characters as she loads up the Wahoo Wagon -- an "imagination rescue vehicle" -- to come to the aid of a kid named Oliver.

Walt Disney's "Peter Pan," first released in 1953, introduced moviegoers to an enchanted take on James M. Barrie's flight of fancy. The film follows a magical boy who won't grow up and his adventures with Wendy, John, and Michael Darling as they fly off to Never Land. With such other memorable characters as Tinker Bell, Captain Hook, and Mr. Smee, as well as great songs by Sammy Cahn and Sammy Fain, this film has long been a favorite with audiences of all ages.

Tickets for all shows are available by calling 1-800-DISNEY-6, by logging on to www.elcapitantickets.com, or at the El Capitan box office at 6838 Hollywood Blvd. For groups of 20 or more, please call (818) 845-3110.
