Disney works with Cycore to co-develop Internet-based rich media solutions
Cycore, the leader in 3D graphics software for e-business, today announced that its Canadian headquarters has struck an exclusive agreement with Disney Interactive/Buena Vista Home Entertainment Canada to co-develop interactive rich media solutions for its e- tailers using Cycore Cult3D®. Disney, a global leader in the development, publishing and distribution of interactive entertainment software, has chosen to work exclusively with Cycore to deliver cutting-edge 3D content on its Web site for the first time.
Cycore Cult3D, used by many of the worlds leading brands such as Palm, NEC and CNN, provides low-bandwidth interactive 3D images that can be viewed by virtually anyone with a computer.
"We have chosen to use Cult3D exclusively for our online interactive 3D content, like the Rogers Video online solution, because it replicates the magic our audiences have come to expect from a Disney experience," said Kevin Durkee-Ritchie, National Account Manager, Buena Vista Home Entertainment Canada.
Cycore and Disney Interactive Canada's collaboration on these unique, rich media solutions will result in a unique ensemble of interactive 3D experiences for its e-tailers to use in marketing Disney products. Now companies like Rogers Video will be able to advertise Disney products on their Web site with high-quality 3D rich media solutions co-developed by Disney Interactive and Cycore.
"Cycore is delighted to work with such a great company on such an exciting project," said Bengt Starke, president and CEO of Cycore. "Disney has been setting the standard in its industry since its inception and we are proud they have chosen to work exclusively with Cycore for their interactive online 3D solutions." Cycore will work in tandem with Disney Interactive Canada to bring its line of DVDs, videos, computer software titles and e-games within virtual reach of its customers.
Visitors to some of Disney's most notable e-tailers will soon be able to easily explore the features and functionality of its products-all with the click of a mouse. Rogers Video, the largest Canadian-owned and operated video retailer, is promoting Disney's Toy Story 2, The Ultimate Toy Box, a collector's set of 3 DVDs using Cult3D. Consumers can visit the Rogers Video Web site and interact in real time with each DVD, flip open the DVD cover, zoom in to read its contents and much more. The interactive solution allows you to open up the DVD package and explore its contents-something video retail stores don't let you do before you buy their products. Movie fans can now virtually uncover the DVD collection at http://www.rogersvideo.ca/promo/toystory2.asp.
