Honda to Take Advantage of Walt Disney Internet Group's Revolutionary Big Impression Ad Unit
Honda will be among the advertisers taking advantage in coming weeks of Walt Disney Internet Group's pioneering Big Impression ad unit, the revolutionary, oversized ad unit that measures a full 30 percent bigger than traditional banners.
Among the companies that have taken advantage of the Big Impression since it debuted in September 2000 include AFLAC, AT&T, Compaq, Dodge, H&R Block and J.C. Penney, as well as Levi's, Miller Lite, Nextel, Taco Bell, Universal, Wal-Mart and Wendy's.
Sold on a daily basis and positioned "above the fold," the Big Impression enables a client to "own" the home page of a particular Walt Disney Internet Group site. The Big Impression's atypical size and shape ultimately translates into enhanced brand awareness and maximum creative freedom.
"Since the Big Impression debuted last fall, we have seen tremendous response from the advertising community, which tells us clients are pleased that we have pro-actively sought out creative marketing solutions," said Steve Wadsworth, president, Walt Disney Internet Group. "Advertisers have been quick to recognize the value of the Big Impression as an invaluable method of increasing awareness."
Recent Big Impression Activity:
- Universal used three days' worth of the ESPN.com Big Impression during Super Bowl weekend to promote its "Fast and Furious" and "The Mummy Returns" theatrical releases;
- Bayer's Big Impression presence on ABCNEWS.com coincided with its sponsorship of Good Morning America content and a Healthy Heart Quiz on ABCNEWS.com as part of Healthy Heart Month in February;
- H&R Block's Big Impression presence on ABC.com was tied to "Tax Free Week" on ABC Television's "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" in February;
- AT&T "roadblocked" the Big Impression November 28-30, 2000, securing the ad unit across seven Walt Disney Internet Group sites those three days.
