"Jett Jackson: The Movie" also Fuels Traffic to ZoogDisney.com
Fueled by the premiere of its latest original movie, "Jett Jackson: The Movie," Disney Channel claimed the No. 1 spot (4.1 rating) in prime time with tweens and kids 6-11 (3.8 rating) for the week of June 4-10.
The No. 1-rated network in prime time with tweens for the past 12 consecutive months, Disney Channel scored prime-time ratings growth among households (1.6 vs. 1.1, +45%), kids 6-11 (3.8 vs. 2.5, +52%) and tweens 9-14 (4.1 vs. 1.8, +128%) vs. a year ago.
The premiere telecast of "Jett Jackson: The Movie" (6/8, 7-8:40 p.m.) won its time period among all basic cable networks with tweens 9-14 (7.7 rating), kids 6-11 (5.8 rating) and kids 6-14 (6.3 rating). As the week's top movie on both basic cable and broadcast television with tweens, the movie garnered a 2.3 household rating and delivered 1.6 million homes (2,528,000 total viewers and 1,297,000 tween viewers).
In the days leading up to the premiere of "Jett Jackson: The Movie" (6/4-6/8), kid and tween viewers were directed to ZoogDisney.com, where they competed in the Silverstone Academy Challenge, an online gaming challenge with the top scores appearing on-air during back-to-back episodes of the Disney Channel original series "The Famous Jett Jackson." Across those four days (6/4-6/7), the Silverstone Academy Challenge increased traffic to ZoogDisney.com by 21% compared to the prior-month average.
In Disney Channel's action-packed original movie "Jett Jackson: The Movie," Jett trades places with his on-screen alter ego, Silverstone, after Jett has an accident on the set of his popular TV series. Now Jett, rather than Silverstone, must defeat the evil Dr. Kragg, who is using a dimensional field device to steal the major cities of the world while Silverstone must navigate through Jett's tumultuous teen world.
