New Character Encounters at DCA Make Guests A Part of Mickey Mouse and Friends' Vacation Experience
Playmosphere Comes To Disney's California Adventure; New Character Encounters Make Guests A Part of Mickey Mouse and Friends' Vacation Experience
At Disney's California Adventure park, popular Disney characters are making new kinds of in-person appearances known as "Playmosphere," in which they not only greet park guests but invite some of them to join in the vacation adventures of Mickey Mouse and his friends.
In their "Playmosphere" shows and sketches, Disney characters can be seen spending their summer holidays enjoying the fun at Disney's California Adventure, pursuing their own vacation projects, and often inviting park guests to play along with them.
"Playmosphere" includes some original and unusual opportunities for park guests to take part in interactive character adventures, ranging from a full-scale 'Beach Party* show starring Goofy to encounters with a vacationing Donald Duck or a barnstorming Minnie Mouse.
Donald plays director as Goofy and his son Max join Mickey and Minnie for "Goofy's Beach Party Bash," the new show on the outdoor Hollywood Pictures Backlot stage. Some guests will be selected as "extras" in this musical funfest. Elsewhere in Hollywood Pictures Backlot, Cruella DeVil plans to tell her side of the "101 Dalmatians" story, shooting her new scenes on location near the Hyperion Theater.
Other character encounters in Disney's California Adventure may be more casual. Don't be surprised if you get drawn into a conversation with one of the aspiring Hollywood hopefuls hanging out at Hollywood Pictures Backlot, or with a fantastical sea captain aboard the S.S. rustworthy at Paradise Pier.
Chip and Dale will be found wreaking fun mayhem in Mickey's Garden at Bountiful Valley Farm. Minnie "Earhardt" Mouse completes the last leg of her historic flight to all Disney theme parks by landing in Condor Flats. You might see Goofy's son Max attempting to become part of the LaFeet dance/percussion show, or Donald Duck striving, against considerable odds, to paint a picture while on his Disney's California Adventure vacation Daisy Duck and Pluto.
Kids will have hands-on opportunities to create California crafts, from cornhusk dolls to painted chopsticks and paper flyers, in various Disney's California Adventure locations. New bands, solo musicians and street performers will join such popular Disney's California Adventure entertainers as the traveling "Road Trip" band, the "Vocal Flight" a cappella group, and the tale-spinning "Legend Keeper" of the Ahwahnee Camp Circle.
With the addition of these "Playmosphere" shows and encounters at Disney's California Adventure, young and old park guests will have more opportunities than ever to meet popular Disney characters in new settings. In fact, if a guest were to see all the "Playmosphere" experiences at Disney's California Adventure, it would take four-and-a-half hours. Added to Disney's California Adventure entertainment presentations like "Disney's Eureka! A California Parade," "Disney's Steps in Time" and the many street performers, the total would come to over nine hours!
