The Walt Disney Classics Collection To Release New Sculpture Scene From Classic Donald Duck Cartoon Trick or Treat
New Sculpture Scene Captures The Fun and Flair Of Halloween

In 1952, Walt Disney released a Donald Duck cartoon short entitled Trick or Treat that featured the miserly Donald playing tricks on his lovable little nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie, rather than providing them with Halloween treats. Disheartened, the boys befriend the wacky Witch Hazel and her faithful broom, Beelzebub, and together they teach “Unca” Donald a Halloween lesson he’ll never forget.

In honor of the popular cartoon short that has been a Halloween favorite for nearly 50 years, the Walt Disney Classics Collection will release a charming new scene from Trick or Treat beginning in August 2000.

Created by noted Walt Disney Classics Collection Sculptor Chris Peterson, the scene features Huey, Dewey and Louie in their Halloween costumes - a devil, spook and witch - and the comical Witch Hazel. The scene is made all the more magical with an Opening Title along with an impressive, finely detailed resin base featuring Witch Hazel’s bubbling cauldron, a garbage can and a rickety old fence.

The open edition sculptures each come with a Certificate of Authenticity, and will be available exclusively at authorized Walt Disney Classics Collection retailers. Suggested retail prices for each individual sculpture are as follows: Witch Hazel Brewing Up Trouble - 7 ½” high ($69 U.S.); L’il Devil - 3 ¾” high ($59 U.S.); L’il Spook - 3 ¾” high ($59 U.S.); L’il Witch - 4 ¾” high ($59 U.S.); Opening Title - 1 3/5” high ($29 U.S.) and Resin Base ($50 U.S.).

The Walt Disney Classics Collection is renowned for its faithful recreation of unforgettable moments from Disney’s animated films. The collection features a broad array of sculptures ranging in suggested retail price from $50 to more than $2,000. Each sculpture is crafted out of fine porcelain or resin and is hand-painted according to the film’s original color palettes. Sculptures are often enhanced with mixed materials, including precious metals, stones, pearls and crystals.

The collection is developed and distributed by Walt Disney Art Classics, which also oversees the popular Walt Disney Collectors Society, in addition to publishing Disney’s fine art portfolio of Walt Disney Animation Art. The Walt Disney Classics Collection is available at fine gift and collectibles stores, select Disney Stores and Disney Theme Parks around the world.
