Nancy Sinatra Celebrates Best of the West on Buena Vista Records' California Girl

Pop Culture Icon Nancy Sinatra Celebrates Best of the West on Buena Vista Records' ''California Girl''

Sixties pop diva Nancy Sinatra has teamed up with Buena Vista Records to create a one-of-a-kind musical celebration of Disney's California Adventure Park with the all-new release, "California Girl." On the album, Sinatra performs a special duet of "California Girls" with former Beach Boys frontman Brian Wilson, who penned the 1965 smash hit for the legendary band. "California Girl" also features Sinatra performing newly recorded versions of such classic songs as "Route 66," "Do You Know the Way to San Jose," "California Dreamin'" and "Saturday in the Park." Sinatra's "California Girl" struts into retail outlets nationwide April 30, 2002.

The album also features guest performances by Gilby Clark, former guitarist for Guns N' Roses, and Blondie drummer Clem Burke. Other tracks on "California Girl" include: "Hooray for Hollywood," "Hotel California," "There's No Place Like Home," "San Francisco," "How Are Things in California," "San Fernando Valley," "99 Miles From LA," "Hello, LA Bye Bye Birmingham," "California Man" and "Cuando Calienta El Sol."

With an unforgettable Avante-Garde sense of style and a pre-women's lib tough-girl attitude, Sinatra was a major force in radio, TV and film in the mid-sixties. She hit the pop charts 21 times, starred in films alongside Elvis Presley and Peter Fonda, and appeared on such classic variety shows as "The Ed Sullivan Show" and "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson."

"California Girl" celebrates the opening of Disney's California Adventure Park, which opened early last year. Adjacent to Disneyland park in Southern California, Disney's California Adventure park offers exciting attractions, live shows, shopping and dining experiences in three distinctly themed lands: Hollywood Pictures Backlot, Golden State and Paradise Pier.
