Kim Possible Premieres June 7

Comedy/Action-Adventure Series "Disney's Kim Possible'' From Walt Disney Television Animation Set to Premiere Friday, June 7 -- 6:30 p.m., ET/PT -- On Disney Channel

Disney Channel will premiere the original animated comedy/action series "Disney's Kim Possible" on Friday, June 7 (6:30 p.m., ET/PT) during its popular Zoog Disney programming block, it was announced today by Rich Ross, President, Entertainment, Disney Channel. The animated series produced by Walt Disney Television Animation kicks off with three back-to-back half-hour episodes (6:30-8:00 p.m., ET/PT). In the series, the world looks to Middleton High School student Kim Possible for salvation from sinister super-villains. All the while the otherwise average girl strives to deal with day-to-day teen life.

In making the announcement, Ross said, "This comedic action show featuring cross-over stars from our most popular series, will usher in what promises to be a big summer for us, with exciting original movies, specials, series and stunts on deck."

Thwarting evil isn't Kim's intent when she creates a website proclaiming, "I can do anything." She's actually hoping for babysitting and lawn mowing gigs. Instead, e-mails pleading for help arrive from across the globe. With the help of her resourceful, enthusiastic pal Ron Stoppable, his pet Naked Mole-rat Rufus, and webmaster buddy Wade, Kim quickly discovers she's capable in ways few underclassmen ever imagine. On the flipside, she realizes that defeating the bad guys comes easier than coping with the typical teen pressures involved in dating, schooling and socializing.

The voice cast features several stars of Disney Channel's live-action programming including Christy Carlson Romano ("Even Stevens") as Kim Possible, Will Friedle ("Boy Meets World") as Ron Stoppable, Kim's bumbling yet loyal best friend; Nancy Cartwright ("The Simpsons") as Ron's resourceful pet Naked Mole-rat, Rufus; Tahj Mowry ("Smart Guy") as Wade, Kim's webmaster; Kirsten Storms ("Days Of Our Lives," "Zenon") as Bonnie Rockwaller, Kim's cheerleading rival; Rider Strong ("Boy Meets World") as Brick, Middleton High's dimwitted quarterback; and Raven ("The Cosby Show" and Disney Channel's upcoming "That's So Raven") as Monique, one of Kim's best friends. Other core cast members include Jean Smart ("Designing Women") and Gary Cole ("The Brady Bunch Movie," "Cadet Kelly") as Kim's brain surgeon mother and rocket scientist father; Annie Award-winning John DiMaggio ("Futurama") as Kim's chief nemesis, the nefarious Dr. Drakken; and Nicole Sullivan ("Mad TV") as Drakken's wicked henchperson, Shego.

Guest voices from upcoming episodes include Ricardo Montalban ("Fantasy Island"); Brad Garrett ("Everybody Loves Raymond"), Patrick Warburton ("Seinfeld"), Diedrich Bader ("The Drew Carey Show"), Carly Pope ("Popular"), Nestor Carbonell ("Suddenly Susan"), John O'Hurley ("Seinfeld"), Enrico Colantani ("Just Shoot Me"), Felicity Huffman ("Sports Night") and Richard Kind ("Spin City").
