Disney Institute is proud to offer special Evening Presentations packages to the 5th Anniversary Animation Event. These Evening Presentations will be available on August 19, 20, 21, and 22. There is still time to register for the entire 5-day, hands-on event but we are now offering the individual Evening Presentations for those of you who cannot join us for the entire event..

Monday, August 19: The Little Mermaid -- Ruben Aquino

Ruben Aquino  -- After a 20-year association with Disney, Ruben has garnered major credits such as supervising animator for Ursula in The Little Mermaid, adult Simba in The Lion King, and most recently for Pleakley in this summer’s hit film, Lilo & Stitch.

Tuesday, August 20: Lilo & Stitch -- Rob Corley, Sam Ewing, Katherine Blackmore and Irma Cartaya-Torre

Rob CorleyRob served as character animator for Stitch.

Sam Ewing Sam worked as the lead key animator for Stitch.

Katherine Blackmore – Katherine also worked on Stitch as a clean-up animator.

Irma Cartaya-Torre – We are happy to have Irma back as a guest speaker. She was a CAPS supervisor who worked on the color models for Lilo & Stitch.

Wednesday, August 21: A Salute to Ward Kimball / Peter Pan -- John Canemaker

John CanemakerJohn has designed and directed animation for numerous commercial projects and is recognized as one of America's most respected animation historians. The author of eight acclaimed books, including Walt Disney's Nine Old Men and the Art of Animation, published in 2001, his articles on animation appear regularly in the New York Times. He was a creative consultant and oncamera/audio commentator for the DVD versions of Peter Pan, Dumbo, Beauty and the Beast, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Thursday, August 22: Monsters Inc. -- Jeff Kurtti

Jeff KurttiJeff will be our host for the week, but he is also more than qualified to talk about Monsters Inc. After all, he produced the DVD bonus materials for that film’s home video release in September of this year. He has also produced the acclaimed DVD bonus editions of A Bug’s Life, Tarzan, Toy Story, and Fantasia. Jeff is the author of numerous animation books such as A Bug’s Life: An Epic of Miniature Proportions and The Art of Mulan.

The schedule for these Evening Presentations is as follows:

4:30 – 6:30 pm Event Registration Disney’s Contemporary Resort / 4th Floor

5:00 – 6:00 pm Artist Meet-and-Greet Disney’s Contemporary Resort / 4th Floor

7:00 pm / Meet outside Magic Kingdom Main Entrance for Evening Presentation

7:30 – Approx 10:00 pm Evening Presentation Magic Kingdom® Park

As a special treat commemorating our anniversary, you will receive a limited edition 5th Anniversary Disney Institute Animation Event pin**.

The Evening Presentations packages are only $49 per person, per evening. Discounted rates are available for Walt Disney World Passholders and Disney Cast Members, as well as Disney Club and Disney Vacation Club members, at a rate of $39 per evening per person.
