Disneyland ® Resort, City of Anaheim Salute 2002 World Champions Anaheim Angels wtih Grand Festivities on Tuesday, October 29
The Anaheim Angels have just won the World Series, and what are they going to do next? Theyre going to Disneyland, of course! Ecstatic baseball fans are invited to come together at the Disneyland Resort and at several locations in the city of Anaheim on Tuesday, October 29 to salute the 2002 World Champions Anaheim Angels after their first-ever World Series win against the San Francisco Giants. To mark this unprecedented accomplishment, the Disneyland Resort and the City of Anaheim are teaming up for a fantastic daylong celebration in recognition of both the players and the fans.
The fanfare kicks off at Disneyland park at 10 a.m. with an Anaheim Angels Hometown Heroes Welcome Cavalcade down Main Street, USA. Fans are invited to cheer their favorite players as the parade makes its way through Disneyland. Angels players, coaches, managers and their families as well as Anaheim Mayor Tom Daly and Mrs. Gene Autry, will be on hand to celebrate.
As the day continues, fans can unite once again to honor the Angels in front of the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim where the Official Angels Victory Parade will begin at 11 a.m. The parade, featuring players, coaches, families and special guests will travel from the corner of Katella down Douglas to Sportstown Drive and conclude at Edison International Field, the home of the Angels, where a spectacular fan appreciation party in the parking lot at noon will add to the festivities. Fans can cheer the Angels as they arrive at a giant stage positioned between the two oversized baseball caps for a special ceremony complete with live music, confetti and family fun. Jumbotrons will be positioned in key locations throughout the lot so all fans can view the festivities.
Disney's California Adventure park will also pay tribute to the Anaheim Angels and Angels fans with a special celebration later that day. From 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., fans are invited to join the Angels for an afternoon of baseball fun, beginning with an Angels Victory Parade at 3:30 p.m. Fans can get the game-winning secrets from their favorite players at the Angels Dugout Q&A session in the Golden State Stadium with sessions from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Players will also be on hand to give pitching and throwing pointers as guests register their fast pitch.
Baseball trivia fanatics can put their sports knowledge to the test at Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Play It! special baseball edition, and souvenir buffs will be in heaven at the Baseball Memorabilia and Collectible Show and Sale. Face painters, chalk murals and player and Rally Monkey photo locations are also part of the festivities.
The evening will culminate with a spectacular live music concert and fireworks display at the Golden State Stadium beginning at 7:30 p.m.
