The following information was posted on the LaughingPlace.com discussion boards November 2nd.
To Olszewski fans,
Bob Olszewski has sent out the following letter to his mailing list:
"We are proud to announce that Robert Olszewski and the artists of Olszewski Studios
have been commissioned by the Disneyland Resort to recreate the Disneyland Park in
miniature. On December 14, 2002, Olszewski Studios and Disneyland will introduce the first
design, "Sleeping Beauty Castle", for the new Disneyland Main Street USA
Collection. The collection will be a series of architectural models representing those
structures existing on Main Street in the Disneyland Park today."
"All designs can stand-alone as each is trimmed in a handsome faux wood base.
Together, they can be removed from their base and then you can jigsaw them together like a
puzzle to form a continuous park representing all of Main Street. Additional accessories
will be available to complete the setting, including streets, cast characters (like Mickey
Mouse), cast employees, general park attendees, street vehicles and parade vehicles."
"Each design will be able to be lit, allowing you to view the park both at daytime as
well as night. We have used "Z" scale (1/220th) as our platform for every
building, so you will be able to add a working train to your collection. Also featured,
will be hidden compartments that will reveal the interior space of the building or an
important scene related to the piece, and keep an eye out for the hidden Mickeys."
"For the first twelve months of each design introductory period, pieces produced
during this timeframe will carry the First Edition mark. After that they will come
unmarked and be part of an open edition."
