ABC Announces Premiere Dates For "Veritas: The Quest," "Dragnet" and "Miracles"
The ABC Television Network has announced a Monday, January 27, premiere date for its three midseason drama series: Veritas: The Quest (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET), Dragnet (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) and Miracles (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET).
Leading off the night, Veritas: The Quest is a new action adventure drama which chronicles a father and sons archaeological adventures in search of the truth behind the mysteries of history and civilization. The series stars Ryan Merriman (The Deep End of the Ocean, Taken) as Nikko Zond, Alex Carter (upcoming feature Out of Time) as Solomon Zond, Eric Balfour (Six Feet Under, 24, upcoming feature The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) as Calvin Banks, Cynthia Martells (Nurse Betty) as Maggie, Cobie Smulders as Juliet Droil with Arnold Vosloo (The Mummy) as Vincent Siminou.
Veritas: The Quest was created by Patrick Massett and John Zinman (Lara Croft: Tomb Raider) who serve as writers and executive producers. It also marks the first television series executive-produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron (TVs critically-acclaimed Annie and Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows, the upcoming feature film Chicago). The series is produced by Touchstone Television in association with Storyline Entertainment and Massett/Zinman Productions, and is shot in Montreal and Toronto, Canada.
Following at 9:00 p.m., ET, is a modern-day take on the classic police drama Dragnet. The series stars Ed ONeill (Married with Children) as Joe Friday and Ethan Embry (Sweet Home Alabama, Wes Craven Presents: They) as his partner, Frank Smith.
Executive-produced by Emmy Award-winning producer Dick Wolf, one of televisions most successful creators and architect of the long-running Law & Order franchise, this updated version of Dragnet features two Los Angeles police detectives investigating crimes in Los Angeles. Filmed on locations all over one of the worlds most glamorous and intriguing cities, Dragnets stories will be drawn from L.A.s rich crime history.
Dragnet is a production of Wolf Films in association with Universal Network Television. Dick Wolf, Peter Jankowski and Walon Green are executive producers. Robert Nathan and Arthur Forney serve as co-executive producers.
Miracles stars Skeet Ulrich (As Good As It Gets) as Paul Callan. As an investigator of modern miracles, Paul finds the result is always the same: a mundane explanation and a crowd of disappointed believers. With his faith dwindling every day, his only belief is were all alone down here. Then something happens to change all that and Paul embarks on the most amazing journey of his life.
Miracles also stars Angus Macfadyen (Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood) as Alva Keel and Marisa Ramirez (General Hospital) as Evelyn Santos.
