The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will present the 8th Marc Davis Lecture on Animation "Frank and Ollie: Drawn Together," featuring Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston in person, at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.
Leonard Maltin will moderate the discussion to honor the Disney animators
who are famous members of the Nine Old Men. Scheduled to participate are
Brad Bird (Iron Giant, The Simpsons), John Canemaker (Bottom's Dream,
Street Freaks), Ron Clements (Treasure Planet, Aladdin), Andy Gaskill
(Hercules, The Lion King), John Lasseter (Toy Story, Monsters, Inc),
Glen Keane (Tarzan, Pocahontas) and Charles Solomon (veteran animation
critic).

Complimentary parking is located at 8920 or 9025 Wilshire Boulevard, all of which are free. All parking garages open one hour prior to the event and close 30 minutes after the conclusion of the program. Please take special notice of the "Resident Parking Permit" requirements on the side streets adjacent to the Academy, north and south of Wilshire. The code restrictions are enforced on a regular basis -day and night, seven days a week.

The Marc Davis Lecture series was established to provide a forum for film animators and other experts in the craft to share their experiences, as well as to explore with colleagues the challenges of creating animation for the screen.
