Buena Vista Games Lineup for 2003

At the recent E3 2003, Buena Vista Games announced their anticipated releases for the year and offfered sneak peeks at other titles. Buena Vista Games publishes titles under two labels: Buena Vista Interactive, which focuses on high-profile multi-platform games based on the diverse creative content from numerous businesses within The Walt Disney Company, and Disney Interactive, which markets and distributes the company’s award-winning children’s entertainment and learning software and video games.

Action Adventures

TRON 2.0 (PC; August 2003)
Story-driven, first-person action game inspired by the classic TRON movie starring Bruce Boxleitner, Cindy Morgan and Jeff Bridges. The title combines an epic adventure with innovative, never-before-seen gameplay and a unique, groundbreaking visual style. Players now have the opportunity to race against each other on multiplayer light cycles re-designed by Syd Mead, the film’s concept and original light cycle designer. Actress and supermodel Rebecca Romijn-Stamos stars as the voice of sexy light cycle champion Mercury, who helps players fight through perilous enemies and situations.

SpyKids 3-D: Game Over for Game Boy Advance (July 2003)
Plunges kids inside the cyber world of a video game in 3-D with their favorite spies Carmen and Juni. Based on the upcoming summer movie of the same name, SpyKids 3-D: Game Over is the first game with 3-D for this handheld platform.

Alias (PlayStation2, Xbox, PC; Fall 2003)
A third-person action adventure video game that allows players to step into the role of the series’ lead character, Sydney Bristow, an agent for the CIA. Bristow must use her cunning, extensive knowledge of martial arts and array of high-tech gadgetry to accomplish dangerous missions. "Alias" encompasses all of the key elements behind the series’ success, including high-action combat, stealth missions and time-based objectives, espionage, intriguing plot twists, high-tech weaponry and stunning gameplay locations that span the globe.

A role-playing experience with an intriguing storyline and the ability to explore everything the world has to offer. Deciding to become a cold-hearted mercenary for hire, a peaceful and profitable merchant or a swashbuckling pirate will influence future interactions. In this adventure action game, players assume the role of "Jack Skellington" the Pumpkin King and help reclaim Halloweentown from the mischievous Oogie Boogie.

Girl Games

Disney Princess for Game Boy Advance (Available Now)
Players will be able to play as Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Ariel ("The Little Mermaid"), Belle ("Beauty and the Beast") or Jasmine ("Aladdin") in their familiar environments including Snow White’s enchanted forest, Belle’s magical castle, and Ariel’s underwater mermaid world. Players will also be able to interact with other classic Disney characters such as the Seven Dwarfs, Abu, and a host of classic villains including Cinderella’s Evil Stepmother and Beauty and the Beast’s Gaston. After helping all of the princesses achieve their goals, players are rewarded with a special bonus level.

Kim Possible: Revenge of Monkey Fist (Game Boy Advance; Available Now)
Fast-paced action adventure takes players around the world to chase down evil villains Dr. Drakken and Monkey Fist, who are plotting to take over the world. It’s up to Kim to battle an army of Monkey ninjas, foil Drakken’s plan and save her missing loyal sidekick, Ron Stoppable.

Lizzie McGuire (GameBoy Advance; October 2003)
The game features fun activities and party games that young girls love, such as Charades and MatchMaker. Girls can even keep track of horoscopes, biorhythms and their best friends with a built-in address and date book

Disney Princess Royal Horse Show (PC/Mac; October 2003)
Girls can groom their favorite horses and dress them up in beautiful accessories to get them ready for the festivities. Young virtual equestrians can even ride the horses through various environments and obstacles at the Royal Fairgrounds.

Disney Princess Cinderella’s Castle Designer (PC/Mac; Available Now)
Lets girls join Cinderella in her fantasy land and create and decorate beautiful castles and gardens. Girls can build the palace of their dreams by customizing different magical castles, designing the walls and landscapes, and furnishing the interior of Cinderella’s home with hundreds of accessories.

Youngsters and Family

Brother Bear (PC, Game Boy Advance; November 2003)
Players follow the adventures of Kenai and Koda, two Kodiak bears in the Pacific Northwest.

The Wiggles: Wiggle Bay (PC/Mac)
Kids and their families will have a blast learning and discovering through puzzles, music and games that are accompanied by The Wiggles and their loveable sidekicks, such as Wags the Dog.

Disney's Magical Quest 2  (Game Boy Advance; October 2003)
2-D side-scrolling action adventure featuring platform-style game play. The long awaited circus has finally come to town. However, thanks to local bad man Baron Pete’s evil work, the circus has been ruined! The evil Baron and his closest henchmen, the three Mice Brothers, have also taken control of the house of Mickey’s old friend the Lonely Ghost. If Baron Pete gets his way the whole world will fall into his greedy hands. It’s down to Mickey and Minnie to put a stop to this madness and save the planet from Baron Pete and his monstrous plans.

Disney's Party (Game Boy Advance, Nintendo GameCube; Fall 2003)
Disney Party drops players into the mix with Mickey Mouse and friends to embark on challenging adventures that include collecting magical objects, solving puzzles and maneuvering through obstacle courses. Each player must complete their game board by buying or winning special items such as stars, lollipops and teacups. The first one to complete their game board wins!

Finding Nemo (PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube and Game Boy Advance; Available Now)
The game is set in a 3-D underwater environment and allows players to play key movie characters including Nemo, Marlin and Dory, each with varied abilities. Gamers will explore several levels including mini games and bonus levels.

Sports Fans

Disney's Extreme Skating (PlayStation 2, Nintendo GameCube and Game Boy Advance; Late Summer 2003)
Players skate as their favorite characters, performing moves such as ollies, rail grinds, spins and other expert balance moves. The characters from the film can skate through each of their worlds, such as Simba and Rafeeki in Pride Rock, Young Tarzan and Terk in Tarzan’s Treehouse and Buzz Lightyear and Woody in Pizza Planet, and interact with the other characters that live in those worlds. The game also provides an abundance of fun factor and offers players skateboards that resemble bamboo rafts, frying pans and other non-traditional items. Beyond the skateboard challenge there are puzzles to solve, secret areas to explore and collectibles to find on each level of the game.

Multiplayer Online Gaming

ToonTown Online, Disney Online’s first massively multiplayer 3-D online game for kids, is an irreverent, ever-changing online world where Toons join together to defeat the evil Cogs, a money-hungry mob of business robots that are attempting to take over Toontown.  The adventures in this game involve flying pies, falling pianos, evil corporate cogs and thousands and thousands of Toons.
