Walt Disney’s 1937 animated feature “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” is considered by many motion picture historians to be among the great cinematic masterpieces of all-time. With its beloved cast of characters, memorable songs and unforgettable scenes time has not diminished the appeal of this classic film. Now the Walt Disney Classics Collection has transformed one of the most charming sequences from this timeless film into stunning new examples of three-dimensional porcelain artistry.

The sculptures, entitled “And Away To His Castle We’ll Go . . .” (Snow White - 9 ½ ” high) and “To Be Happy Forever, I Know . . . ” (Prince - 8 ¾” high) are available now as a set only at select Walt Disney Classics Collection retailers worldwide. The new sculpture set depicts the lovely little princess Snow White as her destined true love Prince Charming leads her, atop his noble white steed, into a golden sunset and off to his castle in the clouds to live “happily ever after.”

Created by famed master Disney sculptor Kent Melton, the porcelain sculptures feature such “plussing” elements as pewter stirrups on the horse and a pewter knife in the Prince’s waistband. The new sculpture set was the inspiration for the soon-to-debut “Dreams Come True” sculpture series from the Walt Disney Classics Collection. Sold only as a set, the sculptures have a suggested retail price of $450 (US) / $712 (CAN).

When Walt Disney originally released “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” it not only became an internationally acclaimed film and movie phenomenon, but it also introduced the world to an all-new cast of beloved Disney characters. Since the film’s premiere in 1937 its heroine, Snow White, has continued to capture the hearts of young and old alike and she is consistently embraced by each generation that is introduced to her timeless story.

Over the past six and a half decades the film (the first feature animated film ever produced) has lived up to its reputation as a cinematic masterpiece. It was the recipient of the Box Office Blue Ribbon Award, New York Film Critics Special Award and was recognized in 1939 by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences as “a significant screen innovation, which has charmed millions and pioneered a great new entertainment field for the motion picture cartoon.” 50 years later, in 1989, the Library of Congress established the National Film Registry to preserve films it deems “culturally, historically and esthetically important” - - “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” was among the first 25 films to be so honored.
