NFFC Announces Roy E Disney To Join Kickoff Lineup
Former Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Walt Disney Company, Roy E. Disney, Senior Vice-President of Creative Development for Walt Disney Imagineering, Walt Disney Imagineering's Tony Baxter and World-famous sculptor Ron Lee have been added to the wall-to-wall Disneyana weekend hosted by the NFFC, the Club for Disneyana Enthusiasts at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Garden Grove, California on January 16 - 18, 2004.
Their current speaker list includes:
- Roy E Disney will discuss his reasons for
resigning from the Board and what he hopes to accomplish as well as ways for Disney fans
to get involved. As part of his time with the NFFC, Roy will participate in a question
& answer segment.
- Tony Baxter, Senior Vice-President of
Creative Development for Walt Disney Imagineering will discuss Discovery Bay, a project
that was never fully realized although bits and pieces can be found in several theme
parks.
- Ron Lee, world-famous sculptor will discuss
his latest Disney sculptures and offers a look at the creative process.
- Robert Tieman, from the Disney Company and
author of The Disney Treasures along with author Jeff Kurtti will share
some rare and seldom seen historical photos from the company's archives.
- Kevin Kidney, Disney Artist/Creative
Manager for Disney Catalog Art and Collectables will be sharing some of the new pieces
from the Disney Catalog’s product line. Kevin will also be discussing and previewing
some of the very newest releases from the Disney Catalog.
- Glenn Barker, Principal Media Designer for
Walt Disney Imagineering will be joining us to showcase Disney theme park soundtracks
- Eddie Carroll, the voice of Jiminy Cricket will be on hand. Eddie, a show business veteran, will share stories about his thirty years performing as Pinocchio's beloved conscience, with insights into his role in the new "Wishes" firework show that is lighting up the skies over the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World.
During this weekend of Disneyana events the NFFC will also offer a 3-hour scrapbooking workshop on the evening of Friday January 16, 2004, from 7PM to about 10PM and on Sunday, January 18th from Noon - 5p, they will host the World's Largest Strictly Disneyana Show and Sale. The show features nearly 200 tables and more than 150 dealers from across the country and around the world offering tens-of-thousands of new and vintage items. The Show and Sale also features various Disney guests including authors Harrison “Buzz” Price, Bruce Gordon and Peggy Van Pelt, who will be signing their latest works. Stephanie Ayers, Marketing Manager for Disney Auctions will also be joining us to show off some of the new pins available at the Purchase It Now Store (P.I.N.S.)
