LPWire: Hasbro's Announces their 2004 Toy Story Collection
Hasbro's Buzz Lightyear and the Rest of Andy's Gang Tackle All New Toy Story Missions and Adventures in 2004
Buzz Lightyear, Woody and the gang of toys from
Andy's room are ready to
join kids on all new galactic adventures and earthly search and rescue missions
with Hasbro's 2004 Toy Story collection of action figures, playsets, and role
play items based on this perennial kids' favorite from Disney/Pixar.
Hasbro has big news for pint-sized Toy Story fans with its new "adventure
scale" action figure design. The new chunkier, more "heroic" proportions of the
three-inch Toy Story Adventure Pack figures make them even easier for little
hands to get a good grip for daring rescue missions and imaginative adventures.
The three-inch figures are a perfect fit with Hasbro's action packed Toy Story playsets
and vehicles, such as Buzz Lightyear's Electronic Intergalactic Headquarters,
the Buzz Lightyear's Space Cruiser and Woody's Wacky Firetruck. Also among its
Toy Story highlights, Hasbro introduces new 12-inch feature-filled electronic
talking characters, Search & Rescue Buzz Lightyear for captivating
super-sized Toy Story fun.
Here are more details on the 2004 Hasbro Toy Story line (recommended for ages 4
& up unless noted), and all the fun and adventure that kids can have with Woody
and Buzz Lightyear:
Buzz Lightyear's Electronic Intergalactic Headquarters
The evil emperor Zurg is up to mischief again, but Buzz Lightyear is ready to
save the universe. Buzz Lightyear flies around on his skiff patrolling the
perimeters of Buzz Lightyear's Headquarters and finds that the evil emperor has
broken into the command center! Buzz Lightyear can use his skiff's missile to back
Zurg onto the trap door and make him fall into the jail cell. The jail cell
turns into a containment unit that Buzz Lightyear can attach to his skiff and rid the universe of
Zurg forever! The skiff snaps into the docking station to receive the next
mission from Star Command. Also featured are electronic lights and sounds.
(Coming This Fall, Approximate Retail Price: $29.99)
Search & Rescue Buzz Lightyear
It's Buzz Lightyear to the rescue with Hasbro's Search & Rescue Buzz Lightyear.
This year's 12-inch version of Buzz Lightyear features fun a rescue pack with
gear to save the Little Green Man. Buzz Lightyear also "speaks" new phrases and
has the "standard issue" Star Command laser on his arm. (Coming This Fall,
Approximate Retail Price: $19.99)
Woody's Wacky Firetruck
Woody has turned Andy's trusty Tonka truck into a wacky rescue vehicle! With the
extendable ladder and retractable lasso, Woody's Wacky Firetruck is prepared for
any rescue mission. Together with Lenny and the army men, Woody can tackle any
toy emergency. Woody's Wacky Firetruck even has a fire hose that squirts water to "fight fire" and fits into
the holster when not in use. (Coming This Spring, Approximate Retail Price:
$14.99)
Adventure Figure Packs
Adding a new twist to the Adventure Pack 3-inch figures for 2004, is a "good guys gone bad" theme, with 3 new figure
sets such as "Porkchop's Evil Plot, " "The Great Bank Prank" and "Devious Dino", that lets kids create their own hilarious and dramatic bad-guy scenes just like
Andy did with his toys in the movie. Kids will also love the beefier, more
heroic new scale of the figures, which also makes the figures easier to stand up
or for little hands to hold onto during big adventures. (Coming in August,
Approximate Retail Price: $7.99)
Buzz Lightyear's Space Cruiser
This 3-in-1 space vehicle really packs in the action and adventure whether on
land or in the air. Buzz Lightyear can sit in the cockpit and pilot the vehicle
over any terrain. When he needs to take to the air, the space pod detaches and
the extendable wings help Buzz Lightyear climb skyward. When it's time to land
again, Buzz Lightyear can use his space crawler. (Coming in August, Approximate
Retail Price: $14.99)
Buzz Lightyear's Intergalactic Spaceship Adventure
Always eager for adventure, Buzz Lightyear is ready to travel ‘to infinity and beyond' in his colorful, classic spaceship! Because a Space Ranger must always be prepared, Buzz Lightyear's ship features an all-new Capture Pack that allows him to catch and save the Little Green Man as well as a special trap door for quick escape. This space-age ship is even equipped to launch a missile at approaching enemies. And, for quick access to the navigation equipment and communication with Star Command, the back of the spaceship opens to reveal the command center! The Intergalactic Spaceship Adventure comes complete with two figures, Buzz Lightyear and the Little Green Martian, both fit comfortably in the opening cockpit. (Available now, Approximate Retail Price: $19.99)
