LP: Disney Employee Sends Email Suggesting Participation in CNBC Poll

CNBC Reports Disney Employee Sends Email Suggesting Participation in CNBC Poll

Stanley Gold in a story reported by Jerry Cobb of CNBC highlighted an email sent out by Chris Curtin, reportedly a VP of Synergy at the Disney Company to fellow employees seeking their vote in an ongoing CNBC Power Poll asking, "Is it time for Michael Eisner to go?". According to Stanley Gold, Curtin's in Michael Eisner's office, works very close with him, reporting personally to Michael Eisner. Stanley Gold called the email "an attempt to stuff the CNBC ballot box. It's the kind of behavior you would not expect from the Walt Disney Company. I must say I'm disappointed and a little bit shocked that they are all so desperate that they are now getting their employees to have to vote to keep Eisner his job. It's nonsense. It's somewhat petty, but its unbecoming of a corporation of the quality of the Walt Disney Company."

CNBC offered images of the email which read,

Subject: CNBC

If you are so inclined, there is an online vote occurring on CNBC on whether we should stick with Disney management.

Please feel free to weigh in - again, only if you are inclined to do so.

Chris.

Disney responded to Jerry Cobb's report stating, "The dissidents are spending millions of dollars to manipulate public opinion including telephone banks to call our employees at home, at night to talk to them about how they voted their shares. We have a right to inform our employees about existing venues where they can make their feelings known."

CNBC will broadcasting from Philadelphia offering updates throughout the day on the continuing struggle at Disney.
