Disney Online is Honored with Three 2004 Parents'
Disney Online, part of the Walt Disney Internet Group and creator of the number one kids' entertainment and family community destination (http://www.disney.com), has been awarded three Parents' Choice Awards by the Parents' Choice Foundation. The awards recognize Disney.com, FamilyFun.com and SurfSwellIsland.com for product excellence.
The Parents' Choice Foundation is the oldest not-for-profit organization that identifies the best products for children of different ages, backgrounds, skills and interests and has established the benchmarks of achievement in children's media, trust for consumers and credibility with the press. The Parents' Choice Awards are given to products that meet and exceed standards set by educators, scientists, performing artists, librarians, parents and kids themselves. Fewer than 15 percent of those items submitted to the Parents' Choice Awards program receive a commendation in one of the six award levels: Gold, Silver, Recommended, Approved, Classic and Fun Stuff.
A 2004 Parents' Choice Recommended Award was presented to FamilyFun.com (http://www.familyfun.com), the premier online family resource for creative solutions, combining award-winning content and related community features focused on "great ideas, practical advice and fun stuff to do." The web site's popular "Solution Centers," which offer parents real answers in real time, include: "Parenting," "Recipes," "Travel," "Arts & Crafts" and "Parties."
Surf Swell Island (http://www.surfswellisland.com), a web site where parents and kids can learn about Internet safety, also received a 2004 Parents' Choice Recommended Award. The site's features include valuable "smart-surfing" lessons through entertaining and interactive activities, educational games, and hands-on experiences. It also offers a number of safety tools to help parents manage their children's online experience.
Disney.com, the premier website where kids and their parents connect with the Disney brand to play, to learn, and to explore, received a 2004 Parents' Choice Approved Award (http://www.disney.com). The site's "neighborhoods," specifically designed for each member of the family, include Disney's Blast (http://www.disneyblast.com) and Disney's Toontown Online (http://www.toontown.com), both premium subscription services, as well as Disney Store, Disney Destinations, Playhouse Disney, Kids Island, Entertainment, FamilyFun and Inside Disney.

Disney.com, FamilyFun.com and SurfSwellIsland.com were each grouped in the "web sites" category. The criteria for judgments include the production values, universal human values, appeal to children and age appropriateness.
