LPWire: Thanksgiving Stanley episodes and a Feature Length Film Coming Soon to Disney Channel

New Thanksgiving-Themed "Stanley" Plus Premiere of Feature Length "Stanley's Great Big Book Adventure" Air the Week of November 21 on Disney Channel
Themes that include being thankful for having
enough food, overcoming disappointment and appreciating friends and family are
featured in a special two-part Thanksgiving story of "Stanley," the animated
series for preschoolers, airing Sunday, November 21 (9:30-10:00 a.m.,
ET/PT) during Disney Channel's learning-based programming block, Playhouse
Disney. Stanley's love of animals and adventure leads him to explore the animal
kingdom especially when he has a real-life quandary to solve.
Six-year-old Stanley Griff is disappointed when he is assigned to play a turkey
in the Thanksgiving pageant but when he delves into his Great Big Book of
Everything to gather facts about the Eastern Wild Turkey, Stanley is soon
pleased to play the role of this amazing bird. Meanwhile, after a snowstorm
delays the holiday arrival of Grandma Griff, Stanley wonders what there is to be
thankful for after all. When he gets the idea to postpone the Thanksgiving
celebration for their late arrival, he discovers the true meaning of the
holiday. To everyone's surprise, his big brother Lionel captures the spirit of
the holiday too, and arranges an encore performance of the pageant for Grandma
Griff.

Then, in a feature-length movie, when Lionel accidentally falls into Stanley's
prized Great Big Book of Everything, Stanley sets out to rescue him. But when
Harry and Elsie rearrange the pages of the amazing book, the animals get
shuffled too. It's up to Stanley, his wise and worldly goldfish Dennis and their
friends to race and put the book back together, find Lionel and get the animals
back in their natural habitats, in "Stanley's Great Big Book Adventure" airing
Friday, November 26 (10:30 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET/PT) on Disney Channel.
Along the way, Stanley learns how different animals have different ways of
getting what they need: how the snowy owl finds prey in the snowy tundra, how
the jackrabbit's big ears contribute to its keen sense of hearing and how snakes
sense the vibrations of other animals.
