LPWire: Disney Channel Original Film Now You See It Premieres Tonight
Rising young stars Alyson Michalka (Disney Channel's "Phil of the
Future") and Johnny Pacar ("American Dreams") headline "Now You See It…," a
Disney Channel Original Movie set in the world of a reality TV show. This
mystery adventure tells the story of an ambitious student producer who, during
the filming of a kids' reality show, uncovers a real magical wizard who is just
learning the extent of his incredible powers. The movie premieres FRIDAY,
JANUARY 14 (8:00 p.m. ET/PT) on Disney Channel.
An aspiring producer, teenage Allyson Miller, competes to be selected as one of the producers on a new reality show that tracks the search for the world's greatest kid magician. Desperate to find her star, Allyson stumbles upon Danny Sinclair who proves to be her best shot at getting on the show. When Danny is selected as one of three finalists, Allyson is prepared to do whatever it takes to win. While the other two contestants, Zoe and Brandon, are good magicians, Danny appears to have something more. Even show host and master magician Max notices that there is something different about Danny. When Allyson finally learns the truth, that Danny's magical powers are real, she must protect him from those who want to destroy him.
Starring are Alyson Michalka as Allyson Miller, Johnny Pacar as Danny Sinclair, Frank Langella ("Dave," "Sweet November") as Max, Deneen Tyler ("Runaway Jury") as Ms. McAllister, Amanda Shaw (Disney Channel's "Stuck in the Suburbs") as Zoe and Chris Olivero ("Boston Public") as Hunter. Also rounding out the cast are real-life kid magician Gabriel Sunday as Brandon, Patty French as Madame Susette and Stocker Fontelieu as Professor Mars.
"Now You See It…," filmed in and around New Orleans, Louisiana, was written by Bill Fritz ("Fear Factor"), Stu Krieger (Disney Channel's "Zenon: Z3") and Dan Berendsen (Disney Channel's "Halloweentown High"). The movie is directed by Emmy Award winner Duwayne Dunham (Disney Channel's "Tiger Cruise") and is executive-produced by Sheri Singer and Douglas Ross. It is a production of Evolution Film and Tape, Inc. ("Big Brother," "Fear Factor," and Disney Channel's "Bug Juice").
